The Dunning Kruger, a player so convinced that they aren't bad, that they have a million and one excuses ready to use when presented with evidence that they are bad.

I don't know if you're being sarcastic or not, but there was this one guy who drop commanded a bunch of QP matches I was in quite a long time ago now, who totally RP'd it up. It was ridiculous; totally over the top and hilarious.

But we won every single match. So while I started out "Wtf is up with this dude?" by the end of the night, as soon as I heard him on VOIP I'd just assume we'd win.

Not to say he was amazing, but it's a fact of Pug Life that A Plan is better than No Plan, and as ridiculous as he was, he was such a character that he got everyone's attention.

Wish I could remember who it was.

Possible panzermagier? Aka space captain?

A couple that come to mind:

The Joker: Why does a Nova have 14 energy hardpoints? For the 14 flamers, of course! The Joker dreams of someday building a MetaMechs site for troll builds. Usually not very good, and totally unmanageable due to all the giggling, but makes a great distraction for the heavy hitters.

Prima Donna: Solo player who sees the rest of the team as disposable shields for his hit-and-run meta lord. Expect 2-3 minutes of ranting about not getting proper support when he goes in a totally different direction as the rest of the group...and that's before he gets killed.

Zero #$%&s Given: Not in faction warfare, not in a unit, not on voice comms, frequently not sober. If there was a single player game with big stompy robbits that ran on modern hardware, he'd be playing it instead. ZFG is better than a potato but not particularly good either; he'll hold his own in a semi-cohesive pugswarm but don't expect him to carry anything heavier than a beer bottle.

... two, at least.

The Metawhore, has Metamechs as startpage and copys any metabuild faster then you can say "meta".

Don't forget the "F*** Lore" FPS Uber Tryhard Guy.

The guy who comes to any game, regardless of IP, and expects and demands it have the same exact vanilla CoD style play mechanics as every other generic shooter.

You missed the "anyone who kills me is a cheater" guy.

Most prominent representative of this kind starts with a J and ends with a Z and believes being first place on the "most wins" leaderboard makes him MWOs best player, and the second place dude (who came out first in the end) "rage hacked" to prevent Mr. J.....Z from making first place.

kek.

But which one am I?!

There's also a lack of a Headhunter...or "Don't play with your food" category
Potatos can be feisty creatures, given ample opportunity

I only ran into him once like two years ago, but the Arnold Swartzenegger (or however his last name is spelled) imitator player type was the most fun I'd had in years. Drop lead us through three victories while do the Governator Vote and old Arny quotes. Should have written that guy's name down.

PanzerMagier is the best ******* person on this planet, hands down. I still await the day I'll actually get lucky enough to drop with the magnificent *******, but until then I'll just have to make do with watching the YouTube vids.

The ironic thing about this comment is that most of the builds on Metamechs aren't actually 100% optimized. They're better than what most of the masses run, but they ain't the pinnacle.

Metamechs is actually mostly useful for new players or people experimenting a bit with a new mech or build.

Copying a metamech says nothing about the understanding of the meta/build or the "skill".

You know that player in that metabuild doing that thing?

Game is doomed - i disabled my Founder/Phoenix/Charity/Loyality Mechs, sold off thier Equipment/Weaponry and left only the Battlemaster 1G(P) active bcs it is the only Mech that is still somewhat viable (not owning any Clanmech).

Maybe i will make a MRM-Bomber in the future 1-shoting Mechs left and right - oh taht fuun :D

Any News about MW5 Mercs?
