Assault mission, all pug to your knowledge, no real communication in the team present. Most of Alpha lance seems to be heading off, rest making their way more or less towards the middle of the map as fast as they can while keeping to some cover. Slowest are falling behind a bit. You're in a 50-70 tonner of choice. How do you approach the situation in order to maximise your team's chance of winning?
A common situation and a common question. Leaving out any bias, bitterness and previous frustrations, I thought it'd be fun to see how different people would react to different situations. Give your (objective) answer and, if you want, expand on the scenario or come up with a new one for others to answer to.
In that situation, initially I'd most likely suggest a regroup location and keep near to the Assaults until they catch up, shooing off possible flankers.

I check the names of the pilots on my team beforehand and determine if anyone I recognize is a liability or worth keeping alive
I'm going to play differently if there's someone like Gas Guzzler, TercieI, Mcgral18, etc on my team versus all I see are pugs and potatoes that play a lot but never do well
But in pure puglandia, where I can assume no one is a safe bet? I'm going to find a weird angle and farm damage from it because that's the only way to get c bills from a team doomed from the start. They aren't communicating anyway and aren't likely to listen, or react quickly enough to any suggestions regardless in the event they do listen

I just tell my pugmates that the first one to die from our team is a pant-pooper. That curbs their suicidal tendencies

I'd leave alpha to die like they usually do if they run off and head to the larger concentration of teammates. I'd likely be piloting my Hellbringer so they could be helped by the ECM coverage. I'll make trades and try not to get my armor torn up so I can have an average match with my Hellbringer and kill a full enemy lance worth of enemies on my own, thus boosting my team's chances of winning significantly and entirely negating a total loss of alpha lance.
Chassis KDR of 4 is a wonderful thing.
