Dreadnought has a game mode where after your ship is destroyed, you respawn as these little cannon fodder fighter jets. If mwo had that mechanic with elementals, that would be fun.

Elementals in MWO would get +5000% armor, -99% cooldown, +300% acceleration and -100% heat quirks. And you'd need streaks to hit them due to hit reg problems. This just isn't the game for it.

Let's hope we get them in MW5.

good thing clans are getting nerfed next patch and IS is getting new tech this summer to help with that then

but the fact still remains the direwolf is inferior to the kodiak

Then nerf the Kodiak, don't make the gap between Clan and IS wider buffing the Clan omnimechs...

Would love Battle Armor, they had them in MW4:Mercs + Mekpaks. They were a blast.

What's the point of battle armor if we don't have melee first?

How many Falcon Punches do you think it takes to knock over an atlas?

I can assure you its more then one from BA/PA or an Elemental suit.

First, I would sell my soul to pilot an elemental or IS BA in this game! That said, if they are added, I would imagine them as some type of AI element instead. Cool idea to pilot one but it comes with a multitude of issues. Not impossible, especially given that MW:LL has them, but realistically for MWO (flea anyone), I think piloting would be stretch.

As far as AI (and this opens the door for tanks, etc, as others have said) I could see them as a module.
- they are either dropped and defend an area, dropped and attack any enemies in range, or can be used and then escort your mech attacking your target or perhaps any hostiles in X range. I can't think of anything else they might do atm, and these have all been mentioned already.

Non-module AI
-If PVE (preferably Co-Op) is added they would work well there too, to add some diversity.
-In our current game, they could operate as area defense, have patrol patterns, defend bases (ie the new game mode), and such

Melee of course would help them a lot, making them more effective. That said, it wouldn't be needed to implement them. MW3 had them as npc enemies iirc without melee.

I imagine this is a very far stretching horizon we are taking about, but yea, they may just be possible in some manner down the road Posted Image

Without this:
http://www.sarna.net/wiki/Battle_Claw
and mech riding/swarming, I don't see what battle armor really adds to the game.

Tiny slow combatants with safely ignored firepower? Uh, k.

Well if you go off how they worked they crawled into your space, onto your mech, and wreck face from there. In table top I watched more than one person needing to shoot them off a mech.

I regularly outchunk quad LB10X Kodiak 3s with my quad LB10X Dire. But then, my quad LB10X Dire also mounts 3 SRM6s...

Either way, it's a payload versus speed issue. The Kodiak can afford to move faster, but the Dire will normally carry a heavier payload because it can change hardpoints to better accommodate for the issue of not having enough speed.

TBH, only way I can see them implemented is either them being placed on the map like turrets at the beginning of matches, or as consumables for your mech to deploy.

But, Sir Restos the III, you haven't seen my latest topic. You can expect one as soon as my agents return with their newest intel!

MW:LL did have Elementals, and since MWO runs on the same engine I see no reason why PGI can't implement them in MWO too. It is hard to integrate them into current MWO combat though. Especially since there is no respawn in QP.

Does. Does have elementals. the game is still running. I play it almost as much as I do MWO. Mainly because I want my elemental fix. but it's still a good game. If only it had todays graphics

Simple way to implement.

If you eject before your mech is destroyed, you get to run around as an elemental/battle armor. I know this is so counter to lore...don't care.
These player elementals cannot cap points or otherwise complete objectives and are not counted as remaining units for purposes of defeat by elimination, but they can run around and shoot stuff and be killed.

Omni Fighters can equip cargo pods, which can be filled with Elementals.
So instead of calling in an air strike of bombs, why not call in an air strike of Elementals?

I did like to see them beeing used as tactical resources like Airstrikes. Get them as a consumable or even Module. Let them hang around on your mech, then go to a position where you would like them and drop em..

Actually, if you read this up on Sarna, the Nova litterally had mounts for carrying and charging a squad of elementals, which would fight alongside it on command..

Altho, for MWO, I would rather they drop in a pod (like Starcraft reinforcements) and in a squad of 4 for IS or 5 for Clans

Yeah, battle armors as consumables is an AWESOME idea..

Same for tanks and helicopters..

But.. sadly.. PGI...
