Given the way they do scaling now I expect it to be identically sized to the Adder.

Pretty much this (and/or KitFox size target).

You really can't get anything of a sense of scale from artwork, so this thread is pretty pointless.

I would too since a Cougar is essentially a modified Adder (or at least an Adder was used as the starting off point for the design).

"After the Refusal War with Clan Wolf, Falcon Khan Marthe Pryde decided to upgrade the 'Mechs her Clan fielded as they rebuilt. Rather than waste precious resources designing a new OmniMech from the ground up, she instructed her scientists to improve upon existing designs. The design the scientists chose to modify was the Adder." - Sarna.net

I expect it to run ridiculously hot and be too slow to capitalize on its jumpjets and ECM capabilities.

seeing the very very small Cockpit and center torso ...thats to small for a Pilot(by same Pilotsize in Cougar and Stormcrow))
or the great Cockpit of a
adder

Like for differentiation between "art stuff" and "real stuff" (real as in ingame real, not real real, of course, uh ... I mean really.)

True for a fast hit and run light.
But there's also the niche of what I call "tiny assault": A light Mech that stays with the herd and gives ECM and additional firepower. For that, ~80 kph is perfectly fine. I play my Adder like this and it is almost "too fast" for the job.
The Kitfox is also a nice Mech for that job. Basically a walking ECM to pamper assaults and give a little support with any kind of long range weapon.
(and yes, I do have an LRM Kitfox Posted Image. Assaults love me)

Why a light in the first place and not a real heavy hitter? For weight class (quick play) or tonnage (faction play) reasons, of course.

My guess it will look like an Adder without the hoodie with scaled down Nova arms

I think it will be slightly smaller than the Adder, on account of not having that large hood.

It has plenty of pod space for DHS.

Wasn't the default speed of Cougar in MW4 98 kph? How do they have the same weaponry but run only at 81 now?

MW4 played around with the mechlab rules quite a bit.

Thats way too slow for a light mech.

Dumpster tier, I dont care how much podspace it has, you can damn near chase it down with a Night Gyr.

Simply a parade mech for the completionists.

Clan 'Mechs are modular, IIRC, often reusing parts like legs on entirely different 'Mechs.

I love my Lurmer Adder. Now I can do that with ECM. Maximum annoyance. :D
