Real talk; every time I see a thread about lurms, balancing based on "lore" or any of the hacker threads, I think about leaping in, logic guns blazing but then I realize the danger and play Boom Beach for a few minutes instead.
Also, if we balance based on lore, I want the "kai allard liao" rule where I'll always win cause I'm the hero. Clans can have op mechs; won't mean **** to me.

I'd be happy if they just required you be more than 33% better as an average than a 'good' player to be allowed to play Clan tech. That'd be accurate, right? And since you can just balance for imbalanced tech just balance the game for Clan players actually always being better at the game, always, than IS players, right?
Huh. Don't see a lot of support for that. Just total potatoes who think it's totally legit that the game should be broken to let them pretend they're actually good and everyone else should just redshirt it up to play NPCs for them to mow through.
I blame entitlement culture. People want MP games, their encounters with other people, to play like SP games with 'easy' selected and cheats enabled so they win no matter what they do. When they don't get that they feel like the game is 'broken' or 'unfair' because their perception of 'fair' involves everything being slanted in their favor.
I'm still waiting for someones parents to show up at PGI and demand that their 35 year old 'kid' get moved to #1 on the leaderboard because REASONS.
As to LRM threads.... look man. Someone's got to soldier into those. Think of the children, the nubblets. It's not about me or good players or the terribads. Goods won't stop being good, bads won't stop being bads and taking LRMs. However the innocent nubs needs to see huge swinging e-penises swatting down the lies and misinformation of the LURMing hordes.
Always fight the good fight. You get a lot of likes.
