Lights can't afford the tonnage to take LFE, so that won't help them. And new weapons won't help them either, because they're still overscaled and forced to run XL engines.

Wolfhound is a pretty good light that actually is Std Engine viable.

I do not know why you are so keen on putting a standard engine into a light. When a torso is lost, you lose most of your weaponry anway. That feeble dps you can put out won't help much...especially when the next alpha takes you out anway - and it does considering the damage which is flang around.

I don't own any lights with STD engines. I simply see no reason to do so. Even if it was viable, I still find even the 35 tonner light 'mechs to be good enough at spreading damage that XLs are good. When I pilot my lights my legs are still my weak point. They always have been and always will be. Only light 'mechs that I actually aim for the torso on, which I did even before the rescale, is the Jenner and Jenner IIC because its torsos are so frikkin' big and its arms so small. The poor thing simply has no means of sheilding damage.

If you lose you LT, you lose 1-2 lasers of 6. If you lose your RT, you lose 3-4 of 6. That is also assuming you're not going the 2x ERLL/LPL route. But the fact is, you can lose both side torsos and still retain weaponry to zombie while running really fast.

That assumes we stand around staring at eachother.

Have you seen the Jenners?

The mech is like pure torsos AND PGI decides to make them bigger?

Are you wearing PGI "altered vision" glasses?

no, I just apparently understand what the word fat means, and you apparently, do not. Also the OP is about Panthers, not Jenners?

Please shove as many PPC's on as you want. It'll just make you easier to kill in my Panther ( and I'll laugh while I'm doing it at your foolishness )

Your 2xmedium pulse/ 2xstreak2 build is super undergunned for a fire support light, just saying.

Provide at least ten matches within a reasonable time of each other and then I will decide.

Are you trying to tell me they didnt reduce panther ppc quirks like they did every other IS offenside quirk ?

I used to love playing lights in QP, now i wont touch them in QP except locusts / ach...

**** i should stop talking before PGI make them both bigger and reduce quirks / give negative quirks.

They became huge, like most of the 35 tonners.

the difference between an XL light missing a torso or two and a zombie light is about 3 seconds. 5 at the outside.

Not to mention how much more likely you are to be zombied or legged without the extra spare tonnage worth of anything you'd care to mention.
