I do hope they don't DRM it to the hilt. As much as I may like the franchise, I'm not inclined to compromise on my "just say no" policy. Hopefully they'll take a page out of HBS's book and dual-release on GOG.com and Steam.

I think that the biggest fear is that PGI will release a bare bones MW5 and then attempt to force "questionable" DLC down our throats. By that I mean content that feels like it should have been part of the base game, but instead was held back in order to squeeze more out of our wallets.
That or they start releasing DLC in the form of Mechs for $20 a piece or some other PGI-ish overpriced content.

Or even this: Hollow DLC that doesn't add much to the player's experience - Fallout 4 had this issue.

The big question is whether it will be offline content, or if they're going to use some kind of dumb online verification system that requires contact with PGI servers to play the game. I.e. if PGI servers go down (or PGI ceases to exist) you can no longer play the game.
I'm actually worried that PGI will do this both as a measure to prevent piracy and as a measure to prevent modding. Personally though, I don't want to pay to rent a single player game for an undeterminated amount of time. I want to own a copy and play it whenever I feel like it.

Definitely a valid worry, especially considering how many features were planned for MWO and then quietly abandoned.

I heard that saying somewwhere in this forum... what exactly does that mean?
Decoupling the Engine from Agility makes your Mech become 4 times larger, just a weird side affect apparently. You just have to believe everything that you read on here is all. Believe everything you read here and you will be alright.
P.S. I don't know why PGI even bothers really. The "Haters are gonna Hate" regardless of what they do. They should just pass the "Hate" torch over to HBS and be done with it. Let them sell the "suckers" the Mechs from then on. That way the "Hate" gets passed on for real.

The hate for that game is overrated. Writing is a bit spotty, and some animations are ******, but Gameplay is fine.
You know what would be a cool bonus? If you buy a mechpack in MWO, you can get the mechs in MW5 early/free. Like a cheat mode/pay to skip. So if you want to play stompy clans in MW5, you can use the ones you bought in MWO.

I like strawman arguments. It's wonderful how much you spout them.
Anyways, the DLCs are just going to be mechpacks
