Absolutely agree. They are anything but massively multiplayer games. Maybe in the 100,000 total users at any given time, worldwide, is my guess. And those games on the other list certainly aren't sims; however, I see some as stepping stones to others. I'm actually glad there are games like WoT and WarThunder. They cover the large audience appeal, and then, like a gateway drug, entice some (very few, unfortunately) to partake of the even more refined products.

I have never seen WoT lead to anything, but like crumbs from the table, the player churn from its massive pie, feeds crumbs to other wargames and vehicular combat F2P games. So many players in vehicular F2P games are ex-WoT. Its the same way how League of Legends and DoTA 2 feeds smaller MOBAs. Things like World of Warships were created to have a catch basket from the WoT player snowfall, and many of its players there are also ex-WoT.

World War 2 fans simply and mostly move to another World War 2 game, not necessarily a simulation, e.g. War Thunder <> World of Warships <> Men of War, etc,. Many of the people who are in War Thunder or WoT had come from war games like Battlefield, as well as from single player type of wargames, e.g. IL2 Sturmovik, Battlestations Pacific.

Players from the Wargaming franchise, are also indoctrinated, through their forums and dev discussions, to accept a certain level of unreality and arcadeness in the game to allow for balance and playability. With that in mind, they are not the ones looking for a more sim like game.
