I love this game.

That being said, every day that I have to keep playing these same old maps, a piece of that love dies.

I bought the Phoenix pack and would have bought the new Resistance pack without hesitation, except that now after a year of playing I have come to realize that it doesn't matter how many new mechs there are when we keep fighting frozen city over and over and over and over and over.

I work at a gas station.

I don't have any degrees in business or computer graphics or anything for that matter, and yet for some strange reason, EVEN I, am able to tell that this game will die without some new maps.

SERIOUSLY!

Please for the love of all that is good and decent in the world, or hey even maybe even to protect profits into the future....

MAKE SOME NEW MAPS (yes plural) and get them into the game YESTERDAY.

This above everything else is THE primary failing in this game as of today.

Of course, this is just my opinion, I could be all [redacted] up.

I dont know if i want new maps. I dont think i could stand playing the same one over and over like mining.

I can almost go backwards through any map now, if they add a new map my edge will be gone. :(

I wonder if they could just expand an existing map, like forest colony or caustic, in a shorter amount of time then creating a new one. Considering that these are the oldest maps, and that they came before 12v12, they feel somewhat 'cramped' with the larger teams. It might also allow them to fix certain issues, like the lack of practically any cover on caustic against LRM's.

Too much "emphasis" on new maps when they're released. Creates boredom and hate for that map too quickly.

As for the maps themselves, they're really well designed for... no particular game mode whatsoever. This is a massive problem across most maps where they have no focus to them.

Instead of making brand new maps I think a fair amount of work should be made into improving the existing ones and providing separate ones for the different game modes we currently have.

I have seen new maps added in the last year and a half. Terra therma (wish it hadn't), manifold (love it) and mining (not thrilled but its decent). for the most part however these came out far long after each other. and its discouraging that terra has so many little holes in the geometry.

a good map can add alot of love. a bad map stuck in repeat is nearly quit worthy. lets hope the new maps are manifold quality. and i wouldn't mind them removing river city night. i think a lot of people are hoping for map specific objectives too.

Please fix the existing maps instead of adding even more with omglol collision/geometry issues.

Tourmaline, HPG, RiverCity,.. would be so much more fun without ghost walls absorbing shots and little statues that make huge mechs get stuck.

Clan warfare is supposed to have its own maps and its apparently due in a bit.

yes, new maps mean server overload while they run the new one over and over, I wish Mining Collective was put into regular rotation so it would still be a thrill to get "the new map".

mix up spawn points, sometimes spawn in sight of the enemy, sometimes scattered like now, sometimes all 12 in a group at the furthest points on the map.

You mean Caustic isnt stuck on repeat? My last like 6 games, literally, 3 were mining, 2 were caustic 1 was river city night.....I had a 7th game die on me that was going to be Caustic......thats why I have like 17 games just on that map.....I think if I went in right now, id prolly see Caustic again, and I really hate that map..

They're fleshing out their assets first. I think Swamp will be the last "new" map. Everything else will start reusing assets i belive. Frost sounds like it'll be a mesh between frozen city and alpine assets.

Then they can pack all those assets up and release them as a nice map maker to the playerbase so we can begin to craft and release tons of new maps for this game of various sizes......

Mechwarrior4
World in Conflict
FEAR
CnC Generals


And pretty much every game ever has let players create new maps and stuff and it adds to much replay to the game....

Please make mapmaker toolkit please. I'm not buying any more mechs for dollars, but I will buy maps for dollars. Please shift devs from making new mech models to making new map models. Just more maps please. Thanks.

I'm not going to be playing until there are more maps. Like hundreds would be awesome. Like all these hundreds of planets, there should be unique loots and reasons to go to them. Like in EVE Online, different regions of space have unique social/corp alliances, resources, metagame mechanics, etc.

Make this game a goddamn MMO instead of another shooter with a dozen maps. Look at the massive failstorm battlefront is suffering and do the other thing. Be all you can be.

This guy should get some swag for the amazing prediction - not only did he predict remodeling existing maps, but he predicted 2 of the first three to be remodeled.

Meh to Manifold, Love to Mining, Partial hate for Thermal (assault mech yes, 90kph+ mech no)

Caustic was remade and doesn't feel any bigger but is much more annoying for an assault.
Forest Colony.. people go one way 95% of the time and make it feel cramped but its actually really big with a couple different routes. The new one a water rush is still viable, the old tunnel rush is non-existent because the path allows for a 2 mech wide rush and once you are in you are in with no way out. At least the previous tunnel had a large opening in the center to spread out a bit.

The map design should be rethought as 95% of matches end up going a single way. Maybe more randomized objective placement or more randomized spawn locations would utilize more of the map and allow you to see more of the map increasing the amount of time before a map get boring. Maybe instead of multiple maps with different weather conditions. Make each map have dynamic weather and or environmental changes (maybe have the volcano randomly spew lava or have some of the smaller ones blow their tops and release a this smoke into the immediate area darkening it and reducing visibility.

Perhaps make bullet drop a thing and make different maps with different gravity levels (manifold has low gravity, therma has high gravity) Gravity would also affect how far missles would go.

Hell add more destructibility to the levels!

Alpine is a disaster of a map that is really only enjoyed by snipers and LRM boaters while screwing over every other build that does not include a weapon effective past 500m. Every single time I drop in that map, I just hide in the back until the team decides to charge. I refuse to do any scouting - not even if I am a ECM light. I won't even hit R. You voted for it, you play it out.

Therma is an ugly map with a confusing layout that makes it hard for one to get their bearings. It is a textbook example of how a map should not be designed in MWO and I am honestly surprised that it still exists in the rotation. That said, I have been known to ocasionally vote for it just to throw off the folks who like to boat lasers. How do you like the heat, suckas?

That's true for incompetent PUG teams only. Groups with mid- and short-ranged 'Mechs simply go to some different place on the map than the center.

I have zero problems with Terra Therma layout. Do you know that you can always press "B" to see the large map, if you get lost?

As for laser boats, when I take one, usually I have no big problems on Terra Therma. Perhaps because I have a different playstyle that alphastrike following alphastrike.
