Because PGI wants you to spend 7 million C-Bills to get those cockpit items, assuming you buy the 180 XL, plus upgrades on top.

Yeah I bought the Urbie today, decked it out, and got the cockpit item. Probably wasn't worth it--I prefer my RVN-4X more than the Urbie--but it is done. No sense regretting it now.

I bought the pre-ordered Urbie Collector's, so I already have 3 copies of each of the items.

Yes, I would agree. Raven is a far better mech to pilot at all. But Urbanmech is hard mode, and its piloted for the fun and the challenge, or at least it's to me. You can always sell it, that's 1 mech bay less when you decided to buy another mech. But that's on you.

Honestly though, an Mech Warrior must have an Urbanmech, else he's not a true Mech Warrior.

Urbies are like, what? 1,5-2 mil a 'mech? Ya ge free 3 mil for the minievent and you want a free urby too? That is ballsy to say the least.

Honestly, I'm more concerned with the MechBay newbies wouldn't immediately get.

Not if you wish to be any where near competent. Urbie can cost 7 million to fully deck out. UM-R60L Real price

Times three if you wish to Elite it. Not worth it, if you are planning to buy the MAD-IICs for C-Bills, a week from now, and need the cash.

Ofc, gotta get the upgrades, xl engine, weapons then mods worth 18 mil.. because ya can't get a single kmdd without all of them right? right?

Stock 1,5 mil urby is enough for a single kmdd... no need to overcomplicate it.

I agree. But then i already filled my new mechbay with a Direwolf S. I figure that others would probably do the same, buy the mech they'd been saving up over the Urbanmech for the only Mech-Bays they got from the free MC last event.

Not with that STD60.

It's possible to do, but it's not something i would expect from a beginner Urbanmech pilot.

Still, one need not to opt for XL-engine immediately, 5-mil CBills would be enough as a bandaid-solution. A duelist build with STD180 would do. But will take light ninja skills.

Anyways, as with the Urbanmech being my mech waifu, I admit that it's not as good as many other light mechs out there. I tried Ach this Competitive Mech Sale, and i swear it reeks meta.

I personally run the Urbanmech for the lulz and the challenge, precisely because it's hard to win in it. I'm guilty of masochism, so crucify me.

True, but that's the whole point of urban'mechs. Sorta like the old locust, where you really had to yolo it out to best an enemy.
That was actually pretty fun and rewarding in itself back in the days.

I have never piloted an urb but I always laugh at the one with the standard build AC20 and jack shizzle for speed! Wtf is that meant to do lol.

Yeah, i agree. I tried AC20 on an urbie once, it's fun but it's more of a Kamikaze YOLO thing. I found better results with a Gauss Rifle, cause that immense range is useful when you don't want to get eviscerated with your paper-thin armor. And the shell is easier to land too.
