Ok, I am honeslty tired of being one of those guys standing on my soap box complaining about a fix for FW and doing nothing to help. So here is a quick idea about a real FW reward system.

First step is to put a credit upkeep cost on operating units, based on unit population and planets held. This math is fluid and will.be something that can easily be adjusted.

Second step is to put production levels on planets. Say 1 thru 5. Income from planet ( cdedits and mc) will increase the higher the level. Units can increase a planets level with credits and mc or they can plunder a planet to increase its payout for 1 day/week (whatever cycle used to payout) at the cost of lowering its level.

Next step is to do something with those production levels. Say rank 1 is credits only, rank 2 is more , rank 3 adds mc, rank 4 is more of both plus a discount on buying mechs for credits, and rank 5 is all of the previous plus a discount on buying mechs for mc. This reflects the production levels of a real, working world.

Next is invasion/occupation bonuses. When you take over a planet your unit should get some type of warchest like the cashes in quick play. You can win (salvage) mechs, mc, credits etc, even on super rare rolls find an old lostech vault ( mechs that are for mc only).

Loyalists will be able to keep their planets as long as they can hold them. Mercs should only be able to hold planets as long as they are working for the faction whos territory they are in. Freelancers should earn 100% of the cyclical credit payout for battles they win, 25% for those they lose.

Well, thats about all i can come up with for the time being. The system sounds pretty viable in my head as I sit here and write it out on the fly. Please feel free to comment, add, subtract or even flame it if you like. But we gotta come up with something better than "the unit that claim planet xyz gets 25 mc per day they hold it. Also I made no suggestions about Lp sonif you have ideas on those please comment. Thanks for the patience in reading this long winded post.

Spending loyalty points in a Loyalty store to get stuff would really help with making FW play more rewarding -- not just the stuff you get with your various levels. Perhaps merc rewards for merc points too. Players would have a choice, keep their rank or their position to the next rank or buy that cool new cammo pattern.

faction play rewards should include a milk cache instead of a supply cache.

I like your proposal OP. Well thought out, and viable. I hope pgi does this.

And a proposal to randomly nerf at least one mech on the team that lost. Preferably one that has the lowest score and/or lowest tier rating. This would appeal the PGI's sense of balance by nerfing what is already bad, and their love of the random changes.

My only concern is what happens to smaller units that aren't holding planets? This upkeep cost sounds like it could easily crush smaller units leaving only big fish or forcing smaller units to group together under larger umbrellas (oh hai MS) in order to deal with Upkeep in order to just do drops in FP. This sounds gating the mode in a non-constructive manner, that is, again, my only concern with this set up.

I would like the faction play reward to be:

Having rewarding faction play games.

What happened to the Loyalist benefits of community warfare?

Or all the major units grinding out merc rewards before going full Loyalist?
