Even without it though, tap Q and see if it pops a blue symbol. It's trivially easy and lets you keep the relatively clutter-free HUD that PGI is intending as default now.

That is to say, not all contributors to clutter are equally bad... some of the clutter was actually good and necessary. And some of the replacement clutter is unnecessary. For example, I don't really need to know the weight classes of teammates in my FOV. I just need to know they are allied.

That would've been me, a couple games last night. I remember thinking that goddamn, the opfor's really bringing those UAV's tonight .... OH well.
I can get used to the new system, but friendly UAV doritos was one bit HUD clutter I never did mind.

Having this UAV information is very important, and pushing special buttons (like we don't have enough) takes away precious seconds. Also, the "Q" button is defaulted to this? Really?!
Don't you guys think that people already keyed more important functions to such a finger-friendly button? (Mine is fire weapon group 3 - usually missiles)
Bad call PGI..

I've just realised how many friendly UAV's I've probably shot down. All I hear is enemy UAV and I trust that to be correct. Even if I stare at one, it doesn't show as friendly so I shoot it. Then it shows as friendly as the PPC's hit it.
Just some simply playtesting would fix this, it's not rocket science. Listen to the people dammit.

I play with icons on, and the UAV icons are gone.

That's what a HOTAS with lots of well-placed and logically-assigned buttons is for.

The bad part is, it doesn't show as my team's uav until after I shot it down.
Is this a bug? Wait, what am I saying, of course it isn't a bug.

I don't know how I feel. Most of the time I can overspend my patience trying to get people to look up occasionally. Now, if they do, they are just as likely to shoot down my UAV as the enemy's. <Sigh>

Uhm. This.
Uhm. I might have been one of them. I shot down at least one, maybe two friendly UAVs by accident because of this. And I glanced 2-3 but noticed the mistake in time.
The friendly UAV indicator is REALLY important!
