Picture:
Why is there a webcam installed on top of the EBJ, LAWLZ!
I checked other mech (ok, 1 other mech), and there is no webcam installed on it.
So, what the heck? Does the EBJ have a special unlockable ability that PGI is not telling us??!!??!!!
(It's so blatant too, like white and everything. I can't believe I never noticed that before)

Adder has a grey one on the left torso.
Crab has a white one on the left torso.
Night Gyr has a grey one in center torso.
Rifleman has a white/yellow one in center torso.
If you look closely at every mech, there are lots of shared "elements" in their construction. Makes the artists' jobs easier and makes all the mechs feel as if they are from the same universe.

assuming the default answer is going to be sensor.
Oh oh! I got it! It's a sensor so you don't step on those cute little elementals.

Raytheon says you are welcome. Now instead of being upside down on a plane belly, slap it on top of a robot.

Nah, I figured the answer is sensor, that much is obvious. I just don't see the same thing on 1 other mech that I bothered to check. Also, it's like a weird color juxtaposition that doesn't mesh with the rest of the mech. (Not covered by pattern, decal, color, etc)

It's in the Marauder's nose, I think.
Probably an IR sensor. Bishop made a good collection of the cameras. Some air craft have them concealed, like the F117 or F35

Others will have similiar equipment in a pod.

How else would he know when to shout that kappa is taken, or that the gates have been opened

I think new Window removed the instant restart shortcut to prevent that from happening. But, next time in game, you should try alt-f4 to find out.
Report finding back to us please.

The internalizing of the sensor package is to decrease radar cross section (stealth).
