I personally would really like to see the skill tree implemented and would also appreciate the removal of the "rule of 3" for mech mastering.
Thank you.

From people I have spoken to most ppl feel this way. Problem was the first iteration was so bad there was a huge outcry from a group of people who continued to be against it without even looking at our considering the improvements being made in the second and third pass

I couldn't get on the PTR so I couldn't test anything myself. That being said the skill tree looked messy and somewhat inefficient.
The rule of three things is awful and should be removed for sure. Pure money grab.

I think we will get the New Skill Tree eventually. I just hope PGI will realize that it would be smarter to implement the skill changes at the same time or after the timeline jump/tech update.
If the Skill changes happen first, every pilot that wants to use a mech will have to repick skills for the skill changes. Then new 3067 tech becomes available 1 or 2 months after....do you really think your skill choices for that same mech under current tech/weapon loadouts will be ideal?

You probably would not need to change much of anything. For the most part the skills were centered around weapon type missile/laser/ballistic or affected every type of weapon. Only exception I can remember is lbx spread and gauss charge time.
