I dont know about others, but in my opinion windows XP was one of the best they had.
I used XP for around 10 years and rarely had any trouble with it, very stable and very easy to use.
At the time, the only reason I upgraded to Win 7 was for the 64 bit as I was unable to get my hands on a 64 bit XP at the time.
Its a shame there is no support for it anymore, I hope Win 7 will be just as good, because if it is I will use it for may years to come.

Though I heard rumors that Win 8 is not very good, but its only rumors and not confirmed.
In any case I will stick to win 7 for now.

I am downloading Windows 8 Pre-release now. I plan on putting this in my Mechpit, but I doubt there will be any issues. The only OS that I ever really had problems with was Millennium, MS-DoS 3, 3.1, 4.0, 5.0, 6.0, Win95, Win98, WinXP, Vista and Windows 7 have all worked very well for me. Course, tinkering is part of the "fun" right? ;)
