Are you kidding me? It's every other Tourmaline Desert for me this morning... It's chosen WAY too much.

The problem is the GOD DAMN ESCORT that PGI has refused...

The freaking mode is completely distorting the chance of ALL maps to appear equally. Canyon is rare. Mining is rare. All the best brawl maps and fan favorites are super rare now. PGI just need to add Escort mode to ALL the maps and not overthink about how small maps might screw up Escort advantage/disadvantage.

Lol! I rarely get tourmline I'm lucky the map itself comes up it's usually Polar (Most Common), Crimson (Most Common), Alpine (2nd Most Common), River City( Moderatly Common), HPG (Rare), Cayon (Rare), Tormline (Anakin really hates this map), Terra Therma (LoL barely exist)

Caustic and Mining are pretty much non-existent after escort was introduced. Instead I either play Polar or Crimson. That is soooo entertaining to play basically just 2 maps....not

I had this happen to me all last weekend. Eventually I built up enough votes to change things for a single match, but it was painful enough I took more breaks than usual.

Getting Crimson Strait nonstop wouldn't be half as bad if more players knew what they were doing.

Spawn tunnel side? Better skip saddle!!! Instead of immediately contesting the only map feature that matters on Crimson (the overhanging complex) they run through the tunnel into a bottleneck that'll have guns pointed at it well before they arrive.

Spawn island side? One of two things - stand around pointlessly on the upper platform while teammates get picked off or push saddle while the enemy comes from tunnel, leaving less mobile teammates behind to die.

The number of games I've played there as a light where I can't make a move hurts. I'm either forced to harass the enemy deathball in a 1v12 because my team is doing nothing to draw their attention, or I have to sit back and wait for my team to make something happen while the few guys doing what they should get focused down. Once the enemy has enough of a lead to push in and crush the rest of us, they do.

Feels good man. At least on maps like Mining Collective, HPG Manifold, Canyon Network, and to an extent Tourmaline Desert, I can use terrain to harass independently. But with the dominant PUG tactic on Crimson being that stupid platform, it's either full exposure to the enemy team or a long wait for my teammates to sack up.

I just want to que up for X map on Y game mode and completely never play the maps and game modes I never want to play....ever...

Even then though, those maps will get boring. They need to add alot more maps if they want this game to live longer than a year or two.

Escort. It is all due to the crappfest game mode making map selection limited. When Canyon, HPG, and Mining Collective are rare, there is something very wrong. These are the maps people like the most, yet we don't get to see them because of a PGI failure mode.

Need to bring back choice.

Player selects maps and modes they are looking for and hits search. Then matchmaker does its thing. This needs to happen as there are not enough maps to begin with and playing Crimson over and over is going to make the population issues even worse.

What if instead of a single level choice at the start, you got two levels.
I.e....

First, you choose what game mode you are going to be in, pick one of two.
Second, based on the game mode (for excluding certain maps), you got a selection of 4 maps to choose from.

So, if the mode was anything except escort, you would still see all those maps currently excluded because escort might be chosen.
The downside is it might take a slightly longer period of time to get into the games, but the end result would likely be more palatable.

Escort has dramatically reduced the chances of you seeing Canyon, Mining, and Terra, as those maps are not compatible with Escort (I don't know if there's any others off the top of my head)

You see every other map that supports it more often

Yep. Crimson's getting old, but at least it isn't another ice map. Forest Colony comes up so rarely that it seems like everyone has forgotten how to play it.
