Title says it all. Name your top four choices per faction for mechs you think need serious help so people start seeing them on the battlefield.

I'd say just Pick any IS mech you rarely see on the battlefield. it seems like all the "good" mechs are the ones you often see...especially the clan OP machines...but there are a lot of mechs that sit idle because everyone knows a timberwolf is gonna run in and cave your head in.

A lot of the IS side is not terribly good, but it works best to pick specific ones and go forward. On the clan side the adder, Highlander IIC, mystery lynx, and my beloved fridge need a bit of help. Hero and new tech might change that for some people, but that depends on implementation.

For IS the Highlander, vindicator, panther, and Jenner would be solid start points to get corrected in my opinion. Never see any Jenner other than the oxide these days.

they are all good, as long as they stick to their capabilities and don't try to shine as one man army ...this mindset is desatrous

i am doing it too, but well ...

@Tribal556 There are some chassis that are just not as good as others at _any_ role - look at the Vindicator for instance, it has really good PPC bonuses but the energy mounts are all knee high so you have to expose over half the mech to get off a shot.

and that's not even the worst IS chassis!

Hardpoint location and type and mech hitboxes make huge differences to the usefulness of a chassis - they are anything but 'all good'

All IS lights other than the locust.

Vipers legs need armor.
I would say mist lynx for everyone who doesn't buy the balancing pods.

Personally I say every 35 tonner that was badly effected by the rescaale to be properly compensated, with a strong but not broken quirks in agility, and survivalist.

Ideally I would like PGI to remodel some mechs, particularly IS lights, that got a lot taller when the resize happened. Realistically though that simply isn't going to happen...

Sigh

The Scorpion needs the most help.

It's, like, not even in the game.

@Juodas - I thought you'd kicked your 'mention the Scorpion in every post' habit!

All IS mechs other than the Battlemaster, Grasshopper, and Warhammer. The Locust too, but as soon as PGI slaps the rescale on that mech it'll die in a fire. Any IS mech with bad XL hit boxes is also garbo.

Cataphract, only mech I've totally banished from my mech bays. Only mech I've felt like dead weight using unless totally ignored. Sadly I think the problems are harder to address than quirks or new tech. The geometry is unavoidably bad, low slung arms with a Ct the size of a barn and Sts only slightly smaller. The 0XP might have been the Cataphract to rule them all with that high mounted ballistic coupled with ECM as seen in the lore artwork. But it was not to be.

Maybe the LFE will breath new life into it. But the problem it has can't be fixed with out changing what makes a Cataphract a Cataphract.

I never complain about going above and beyond. You went a step further and actually talked about what exactly they need to make them better. More is usually better than less.
