So PGI is going to make ATMs for clans do less damage per range like most of the other weapon types, but IS will not have any equivalents (though they will have MRMs and rocket launchers). I stumbled upon this today:
http://www.sarna.net/wiki/MML-9
Comes in 3, 5, 7, and 9 flavors.
Comparing the MML-9 with the ATM-9, the ATM does more damage close range (on SARNA), takes one ton and one slot less, but has one more heat and less ammo per ton, so fairly balanced. ATM also come in 12 flavors for even more damage per shot to keep Clan superiority a bit. It's 3068, so within the time frame PGI is bringing.
Should PGI implement these, or leave the variable-damage-according-to-range missles to Clans?

An MML is basically just a launcher that can fire either SRMs or LRMs. I could see the MML-9 being a pretty decent SRM9 launcher for bigger mechs and maybe allow people to throw a ton or two of LRM ammo into their mech for use when advancing to brawl.
Seems decent, SRMs are lighter for the same missile count, LRMs provide higher tube counts, these fit in as a hybrid.
These really would require ammo swapping though, as they really do just use SRM or LRM ammo. Unless PGI just wants to be lazy on it and do what they did to ATMs.

If IS gets ATMs then clans should get access to RACs.

I remember MW4:M had given Clans RAC-10 and 20. Imagine a Kodiac with a few of those...

He is asking for MML, which is IS tech in lore.
Clans had RAC-2 and 5, as well. Experimental, but they had it all the same.
Edit:
I mean, I don't think the IS should get ATM, either, but the argument you presented was slightly flawed. Just a smidge. Don't think MML would be a problem, honestly. Don't like how some tech was cherry picked, like the Inner Sphere HMG, to be included despite being post 3067, while others, like HAG, were not.

machine guns... But no LAC/protomech ACs....
Light mg aren't going to be more useful except a tiny Window between 150 and 180 meters(current mg hits half damage around that point don't they?), heavy mg... There's your melee option XD
