I just checked on the steam charts and I'm glad that the player loss on steam has stopped.

MWO is too good a game to die, hopefully, when MWO gets ported to the Unreal engine with the release of MW5, it maybe gets to the place it belongs.

MWO deserves way more players.

It has been static for quite a few months.

Errr ...... wut ?
MWO isn't getting ported to unreal engine, that would cost money and programming. And MW5 is a pipedream we have seen a trailer for just like a MW5 trailer we saw .... 5 ?? years ago which turned into MWO..... Maybe MW5 2022 if were lucky, and its probably going to be 90% DLC.

I'd imagine the number will stay static until the new Tech comes in July, might see some uptick there but no telling how much.

Well try to hook your friends (and family?) to it. Be patient while explaining the basics and guiding them through bumpy road of learning curve that this game has.
My unit just talk a lot with other people and invite friends of friends to try it out. If/when they come online we try and group up with them newbies (e.g. on our secondary non 1tier accounts), ppl that play similiar games could be easier to get into the game.
Anything that works.
If PGI don't want to advertise their product maybe we can do that. Not for them. For us.

I thought this was a non-issue. Every game on Steam does this. Free game comes out, big spike in players, players leave after a while, a few stick with it.

Stagnation is often the death of a company, video game or economy.

MWO deserves way more players competency from its developers, better development, optimization of performance, more features and content, and better balance

Steam is not even a third of MWO players though. I am glad Steam is showcasing MWO. However, if you were a MechWarrior/BattleTech fan you were already aware of MWO and signed up.

Good one.

You guys do realize that the few of you are going around liking each others post right? so while the rest of us want the game to grow a very small few of you are just sitting behind your computers bitterposting, when you can obviously get on with your life if it's such a bad game.

Despite the development they got coming this year. It's never good enough for spolied first world people.

These kids don't even realize PGI beat EA's battleront in terms of development in the year 2016. Get out the bubble.

They're doing what they have always done. They will add in new tech and a bunch of people will come back. They will leave over the months. They will then add something else and they will come back again.

Im wonder what they're going to do for their next big money making sale. Looks like they have one more round of pods to sell to clanners. Than they're going to have to do something else.

Honestly i would like to see some off the charts steam sales to get more people interested.. like a 12 mech pack with 3 mechs in every class for a one time 10 dollar price. Pretty much if you were buying a midgrade game and give starting players excellent boost. Have it come with multiple modules, decals and camos for the mechs you get.

I have been suffering from an outright lack of time for video games... would be playing if I could find time.

You did see the more recent trailer released around MechCON last year, right?

Well they said porting MWO would require a complete rebuild. Even just updating cryengine. It would make sense to use MW5 as a base for porting MWO to unreal4. They'd have actual support and updates from the creators of the game engine. And there are a lot of examples of good games using the engine. I for one would really like to see MWO get a facelift with a new engine.

Because, all they do is sell pods? These general criticism apply to all games. Player retention, and how to make money to keep the game going

Thats something I wouldn't mind waiting around for. It's probably going to be one of those *holy crap* I didn't see this coming moment. Next year perhaps, because they defiantly would hold it as a surprise.

then we would get a bunch of *Lack of information, means lack of anything* threads.

Umm, you are not up to current events are ya?

Welcome to 2017.

Your forgiven for not knowing about that.

But me personally, im not holding my hopes for that game, I fell for it in MWO, thinkin' it would be basically MW5 as well, so, yeah, im with you on wishing we got MW5 way back when....but yeah......

You are aware that march had the release of like half a dozen AAA games Nier, LoZ, andromeda, horizon, among others (as well as a new nintendo console released). Not to mention Persona 5 released last week. And WoW released patch 7.2 that allows flying in the new expansion. Not to forget PlayerUnknowns Battle Royal just kicking *** and taking names on Steam.

Its been a rough 6 weeks on wallets and gamers. EVERY GAME that wasn't one of the big games released has been getting its **** kicked in with player counts. But now that the gaming gold rush has started to wind down as people beat campaigns, take vacations, move and such, player counts should be rising to the regularly amounts.
