I'm pretty sure that being competitive doesn't hinge on having only the best of the best of everything. It might give an advantage, sure, but if that was the only possible way to remain competitive then competitive matches would use one mech, with one build - both the most optimal choice. I know the MWO competitive scene has a narrower set of orthodox mech and weapon choices than puglandia, but I don't think it's that narrow.

Actually, thats a great way to do absolutely terrible in any competition. Do that and you will be a horrible comp player that no one wants around. Min-max, meta the hell up or GTFO honestly. Sorry but thats how succesful comp teams roll in any sport, not just MWO. You dont see the NFL hiring flag football players because "they do the same thing, both can run and catch right?"

The next time I see a stock car in an F1 race i will be sure to root for him even though he has no chance.

If you arent bringing the best mechs with your best pilots and your best strats then what sir is the point? Meta is meta for a reason and we find it for a reason, to be competitive and not pleabs.

Comp match would be 8 NTG's if MRBC and other allowed it, this is why they have specific no duplicate rules and things like that. Because if i had a choice of a MAL or KDK i will take the KDK every damn time.

I am generally absolutely terrible, which is why I pre-emptively GTFO and stick to puglandia. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ I do still think the amount of P2W rage generated by the new pods is out of proportion to the exact degree of advantage they provide.

The same reason any of us do this - sweet, sweet dopamine and the thrill of reward. Some players can only get it from competing at the highest levels and winning, others can get it from fulfilling different criteria. Winning a game is always a good trigger for a reward response, but at the end of the day all it is is meeting a specific set of circumstances to get a happy pill from your brain.

Your point is competitive play - it's how you get your reward. Parts of mine, for example, are the visual spectacle of the kinetic 'thump' and chain explosions of a mech coming apart under heavy fire, and seeing people having fun in stompy robots. It's pretty easy to understand and accept the different points players have for playing once you realize that we're all junkies jonesing, in our own ways, for our next fix Posted Image The important thing is for different groups not to impact on the enjoyment of others, if possible. Luckily MWO has a few options for the competitive and casual scenes to use.

So would I, because I have a terrible relationship with Mauler fits and I love the KDK cockpit. Again, differences. By the same token I find ballistic KDK and Mauler builds a bit 'cheesy' and uninteresting whilst appreciating their efficiency for stacking things in favour of a win condition. One of the reasons I'd like to see mechanics like a CoF based on cruising and flank speed and incremental heat penalties added to the game - MWO currently favours a more arcade-style skillset to maximize the chance of victory, and I'd prefer the complexity of a simulator-style game Posted Image

lol, dude.

I know you arent this dumb, Whats wrong with competition? You know that this is a competitive game right? I know thats bad and if we say that word it means we are try hards looking to get Walmart plastered on our hoods? The dreaded competitive nature of humans, how dare we try to see who is better during our free time while not bothering anyone else at all.

How dare we buy expensive computers with our own money, buy numerous mech pack over years and years, be whales as well as competitive

How dare we be anything but casual pleabs such as yourself.

Psst! You missed my point by a parsec.
