Greetings MechWarriors,

The latest wave of Clan Hero 'Mechs were announced for pre-order last week, and since then there's been a lot of discussion regarding the unique Loadouts offered by some of these Heroes. In particular, some in the community have expressed issues with specific cases where a new Clan Hero is introducing entirely new Loadout capabilities not shared by standard variants attainable with C-Bills.
That is a completely valid concern, and this post will contain some details covering how we are addressing these cases.
Full details are provided for each 'Mech through the main body of this post, but let's start with a summary of the actions we are taking:

Clan Hero Loadout Changes & Refunds
The following Clan Heroes have received changes to their original Loadouts:
• Executioner EXE-CH (jump to changes)
• Shadow Cat SHC-MI (jump to changes)
• Ice Ferret IFR-RC (jump to changes)

If you purchased any of the above Heroes and wish to request a refund based on the Loadout changes outlined later in this post please get in touch with Support services at billing@mwomercs.com. Our Support team will be happy to issue a full refund for your affected Hero purchase as soon as possible. If you acquired any of the above Heroes we will also be contacting you directly by e-mail soon to notify you of the Loadout changes.

Please note that due to the cart-based system used for the Clan Heroes we may need to issue a refund for all of your purchased Clan Hero 'Mechs if they were all purchased in a single transaction. For example, if you purchased an IFR-RC (loadout changed), GAR-KW (not changed), and the HBR-VI (not changed) in a single transaction we will need to issue a full refund for the whole transaction.

If you wish to request a refund for any of the other Clan Hero variants in this wave for another reason - such as the pending release of the new standard variants detailed later in this post - please get in touch with Support at billing@mwomercs.com and we'll be happy to help.

We would like to apologize sincerely for any frustration you may encounter as a result of this process.

New Standard Variants

The following standard variants will be simultaneously released in-game for purchase with C-Bills in the August patch.
These 'Mechs will be attainable through standard means in-game the day of the patch for C-Bills, and are an attempt to offer new and interesting alternative Loadout options for Clan pilots to coincide with the initial release stage of the Clan Hero 'Mechs.

• Arctic Cheetah ACH-E
• Mist Lynx MLX-G
• Ice Ferret IFR-P
• Shadow Cat SHC-Q
• Mad Dog MDD-H
• Ebon Jaguar EBJ-D
• Hellbringer HBR-P
• Gargoyle GAR-E
• Executioner EXE-Q

Hero and New Variant Details

Shadow Cat [Hero Changed]

The presence of two Missile Hardpoints in the Right Torso OmniPod of the Shadow Cat represented a straight upgrade in capabilities compared to the single Missile Hardpoint located in the Right Torso OmniPod of the SHC-A. As a result, we have opted to reduce this the SHC-MI Right Torso OmniPod to feature a single Missile Hardpoint to match the SHC-A in functionality. The SHC-MI Hero does however retain its unique 1E1B Right Arm OmniPod.

Additionally, the August patch will include the release of the canon SHC-H variant, available for direct purchase in-game with C-Bills.

RT= 1M
RA= 1E 1B

SHC-H Loadout

RA= 1E

with the SHC-MI losing its 2M RT, and with the SHC-H only having 1M LT(replaces ECM)
i sadly dont see the need to get the SCH hero which i was excited for when announced,

personally instead of the SHC-H, i Feel PGI should come up with a New SHC variant,
perhaps one with 2-3Energy in each arm, as to add more to this hardpoint starved mech,

Personally i can see why it was done, but i dont think it was necessary here,
what are your thoughts, has this change to the SHC Hero changed your mind on it,
do you feel this change was necessary, and what do you feel PGI should do?

=Idea=
perhaps if they gave the Hero back its hard Points,
wail also buffinf the SHC-H as well could help the SHC,

Shadow Cat
SHC-MI Hero Loadout

LT=
CT=
RT= 1M +1M
RA= 1E 1B

SHC-H Loadout
LA=
LT= 1M +M
CT=

RA= 1E

this would allow for:
3E 4M= SHC= H, A & B
2E 6M= SHC= Hero, H, & B,
2E 4M ECM= SHC= Hero & B
1E 4B 4M= SHC= Hero, H, & P,
I feel these could help the SHC greatly,

if nothing Else just add the Heros 2M RT,
=0=0=0=
(Poll)

Thoughts, Comments, Concerns?
Thanks,

Edit- Fixed H/A/B combo missing 1E,

I just want a 2 energy arm variant so I can have maximum convergence/control when using 2xCLPLs/CERPPCs. That's all I ask.

did the SHC deserve this nerf?
the IFR made out ok, the EXE not so much but still it have options available,
these changes add nothing to what you can do with a SHC,

There were two choices, reducing the missiles, or offering the same ones for cbills, they chose poorly, IMO, but oh well.

Removing build diversity for the sake of placating those who wouldn't buy said mechs in the first place is stupid.

Honestly, the end result was preferred just because I prefer the symmetrical build you can do with splat now.

And thus PGI continues to suffer the consequences of their actions ... and the Urbie Hero remains up in the air. <shrugs>

Bad call. This is such a terribad call by PGI.

On a marketing standpoint, once you released something that got people to open up their wallet, you don't stab them in the back because you hear how people complain about your p2w models. If after metadata research after release and you find that they are indeed OP, you can always fix by adding neg. quirks. This has been done many many times and have NEVER been a problem.

From a straight up player and paying customer point of view, this is complete horseshat. The issue goes beyond whether EXE or SHC (which btw, who is making these calls that they will be OP? The players? WTF? Are a select few players running PGI now? How are nerf/buff decisions not done through metadata but by theorycrafting players? Are you kidding me...) will be OP. This is about PGI introducing something that's different. Call it p2W is you will, but so effing what? Has any of the previous 50 hero release broke the game? So why is PGI getting scared this time around?

ALL of the previous 50 hero releases can be constituted as p2w. But that's the whole point of paying 15 bucks+ for ONE mech. Why else would the players be paying money for cbill assemble-able parts? It's a principle issue. You want people to give you money, you gotta offer incentives.

Maybe there are enough old people in this game that they are only single game players (only play 1 game) and don't know what a true p2w is. But what PGI is doing with their Heroes is NO WHERE CLOSE to being a true p2w. I play Jurassic World: The Game on mobile. A few months ago, they introduced a VIP system where all the VIP creatures you can get is like 50% more health and damage. THAT is p2w.

At the end of the day, if an EXE approach with 4 missiles, he is not tougher to take down than 1 with just 2. His missiles is not doing more damage. His health is not doubled. Yes, his M slots are twice as otherwise, but are there no 4 M slots mechs in game? Are there no 4M slots assaults in game? Are the amount of hardpoints borderline ridiculous compare to peer mechs? (Honestly, if anything, UV has more of a case to being P2W for having 8 ballistics) No? Don't look like P2w to me.

There were three choices, actually. Keep 2M on the Hero, but put one of them on the Left Torso.

I'm not overly bothered by the net nerf of the mech's total hardpoint count. At least they managed to sidestep making an outright superior Real Cash Only pod.

That would have been acceptable. Trading ECM for firepower... seems fair to me. But the total hardpoint nerf across the board on mechs is what's getting me upset right now.

I mean, with them releasing a 1M LT for chump change c-bills, it is almost like no nerf to the hardpoint count. You only are now forced to give up ECM for firepower... as it should be. I for one will enjoy the hell out of my 4xASRM6 2x ERSLas Shadow Cat.

Hell, I will even make an ATM version on a non-hero Shadow Cat. Because why not?

Incentives are unique camo, unique loadouts (but not straight up upgrade over C-Bill versions), as well as 30% C-Bill bonus. That's what they are still offering even post nerf, and that's how it should be. That's how all Hero mechs should be.

The problem is that when one is happy with something they don't feel the need to express such, but when one is unhappy they'll harp on it until short of breath.

Oh come on, which Hero doesn't have something that a straight upgrade over Cbill version? Also, no one is paying 15 dollars for Champions. The only one that I've ever considered is the SNV Galaxy. Otherwise, unique camo ranks like dead last on my incentive to buy using real money.

And you know better than this... which online DLC (and this is pretty much DLC) doesn't sell something that's better than the free version? Pure cosmetic costumes always sell between 3-5 dollars, not 15 +. So no, argument void.

Ok so you want thoughts, comments and concerns...

Well, being a regular Shadow Cat pilot, I decided to buy the hero to add to my collection. I thought the 2 missile hard point would provide me with something to experiment with. Then it just changed... Ok... PGI changed it because of a few forum whiners... and they're giving use a cannon variant for c-bills as well... Ok... hmmm so now the only reasons for me buying it are:
1) 30% c-bill bonus
2) Shadow Cat

To be honest, the poor mech suffers from heat a lot of the time and doesn't really have enough space to be able to make for a major threat to most mechs... Most of the time, piloting skill is what's needed to make the mech more dangerous, so the hero variant is now just... pfft... meh. The first thing I'll do when I get it is replace the pods... Most likely to the B variant to level it, then experiment adding the H variant torso later.

I honestly can't suggest anything that would please everyone... except maybe add ECM L/T? I dunno...

So... Any chance of discount? (Had to try...)
