It really is sad because that melee aspect is essential to the game, in my opinion. In "real life" I would always want to know I have the option to go hand to hand if needed. I guess now I will be forced to go with a scout mech in order to get the adrenaline rush.

My Flashman blew the hell out of an axeman...a 20 ton Locust ran up to save his mate...shot me...kicked me in the leg...did 2 points...
...my foot didn't stop till it lodged in his centre torso.

That is awesome. I love that kind of interaction. I also love the loyalty on the part of the Locust. I tend to play that way myself.

I heard that we -might be able to use images from Crusher Joe and Dougram, if that is true then we might see the following:
Shadow Hawk
Thunderbolt
Wolverine
Locust
I don't understand why it has four tubes on each side. What could they be for?

I did like the way the Shadow Hawk looked. Locust was fun to play with but I am not sure I would want to use it on this game. Not really great pickings I guess.

i think 20-ton mechs were avoided for a reason in most battletech games.
They are at the risk of being useless
Increadibly fast though, gotta give 'em that.
The main 20 tonner I want to have is the Stinger. Give it Ferro Firbous, Endo Steel, XL engine and you can cram a Large Pulse Laser on that thing.
