Thank you PGI for finally listening to many players like myself that have been begging for rewards for support mechs. This doesn't look game changing, but it is a start to encourage others towards more team support mechs.

From next week's patch notes:

ya it seems they are ganna be rewarding everything with alittle more MatchScore,
but they are also reducing the MatchScore gained when doing damage,

All that is is a matchscore boost so that people who equip AMS in low tiers will end up getting boosted to high tiers faster under the LRM rain when their teammates stand out in the open and they follow them to their dooms.

We still aren't getting paid for it.

I agree this is good but I was still hoping for a cbill reward even if it was small. Over a year ago Russ told me he was making it a top priority

unfortunately encouraging everyone to use ams while not buffing lrms is just going to discourage people not to use lrms thus defeating the purpose of people bringing ams

ECM/LRMs/electronic warfare still needs a complete overhaul!!

AMS works on streaks also as well as NARC pods, and will work on MRMs and ATMs. The funny thing with streaks though is because they start to spread and seperately track a different component of the target...the AMS system has a harder time re-targeting before they arrive after it engages and destroys the first one typically, than it does with LRM volleys (which are usually tighter spreads).

Still makes it harder for the people who hide in the back with assaults vulturing kills and damage to brag about their scores, which is always nice.

Yeah, hmm...

It seems like a better system than individually awarding actions with CBills/XP would be better replaced as having these actions contribute globally towards your 'match score' and then providing CBills/XP based off that score.

It would need some work and several rebalances to appropriately award each of those actions with a justifiable but not over worthwhile amount of match score, but I think it would end up as a better system overall. It would be simpler and with a base 'CBill/XP per match score' they could just adjust the match score value of an action instead of having to constantly rebalance individual actions with CBill/XP awards.

This is a great improvement. Team warfare and rewarding team supporting actions, awesome.

The snarky comments from many seem... unworthy and undeserved.
