Anyone ever notice some players stay AFK the whole PUG match and not move from their start position only to get killed and to disconnect within 2-3 seconds of being killed?
They weren't showing up as "disconnected" and didn't appear to have ping problems.
How is it they were able to disconnect from the game so quick after their death if they were "AFK" the whole time and did not move from their starting position?
While this type of behavior does not occur often, it is occurring enough for me to write a post about it.

i can explain some of these as the interuptive phone call afk.
you finally get ready for a good match and riiing goes the phone ..
you look at it its important.. so you answer it hoping to get them off the line quickly .
but unfortunately they have a point to make, or its detailed, maybe even more entertaining than MWO ( i know, no way right ??) regardless the call takes to long and you get killed by the player looking for the afk player.
so what happens next .. the distracted player discons from the game finishes the call and attempts to play again .

Real life happens. I'm pretty sure most of us would not like to lose in game.

The AFK hunters bug me sometimes. Yeah, everyone wants that Guillotine achievo but, for me, the time to kill afks is after the rest of the team is dead, not before.

Do we really need this thread?
Wishing for no afks is like wishing MM will give you perfectly balanced opposing sides each match. As I see it, if you lose, just find solace in the fact your team had a handicap and if you do end up winning, the victory just tastes all the sweeter.

Why is it always the Charlie lance that has the most AFK's? At least to me it seems, that more often than not, it's the heaviest of assaults that is dico or AFK at the start, never the odd Blackjack or so...
It is also more likely than not, that I'm just imagining things =D

If you ask me, those are not the problem.. the problem is the people who are AFK at their drop zone the whole match, but suddenly activate when they are the last man standing, and then they are nice and fresh, and kill 2-3 cored enemies before being gunned down, ending up with a great match score without actually helping or contributing to their team..
if this happens at 11:10, its unfair to the winning side, since the last guys are usually damaged, and the AFK guy is fresh, and if its like 11:2, it's uncool cose' the AFK guy can earn a good match score but had no realistic chance of affecting the final outcome of the match and did not contribute his team at all..
I usually report such people in either case..

Its because they're not actually AFK. They're waiting for the whole team to die so they can go vulture kills of wounded enemies without having to earn the kills themselves thru work during the game. They're not at all concerned about a game loss so much as their KDR ratio. Thus the instant-disco if they're discovered and killed by a flanking enemy from behind for example. War Glaivez and Steelcore in particular use this tactic. There are others. Go thru the leaderboard, sort by KDR and you'll see a large number who have WLR # are typically only 1/4 to 1/3 of their KDR #s.
