It's pretty simple. We can't have proper FW until we can have Clan Urbie Pilot fighting IS Urbie Pilot, as only they could determine the future of the Inner Sphere.

So yes. Urbie IIC.

Sure other clan lights can mount the urbie clan weapons, but the armour makes it a tough nut to crack. Make a good counter to the piranha in quick play, and a fierce seige defender.

I mentioned it before, but a UM-IIC would likely be limited on hard points and the armor quirks would be reduced - the reason IS Urbanmechs get 3 tons of free armor is to compensate for heavy, ammo dependent ballistics, low engine cap and difficult heat management - all things that Clan-tech already addresses.

I’d say half the free armor and 5 hard points per chassis.

It'll end up like the ClanTech Hunchies.

Squishier? Yes. But with the better weapons and crit usage, it may be a high-skill-floor FunMech. That's okay by me :)

That would be something we don't want or need. In order for it to be a FAIR Urbie vs. Urbie-IIC Fight, the Clan version has to be able to mount many (like, 99%) of the mad mixes we see now. Further, it must not be lacking on Quirks either, and be as equally durable. Anything built on the Clan version is already going to have it's tradeoffs vs. the Inner Sphere version... Things like "Range vs. Heat", which were already meant to apply to most every other chassis out there.

No ! We wanted our trashcan, we got our trashcan. Another one isn´t as funny as the first one.

Nothing is more funny than CLBX20 Urbie! Inner Sphere Urbie can't do that.

The real joke is how many pilots thing "Oh, what a funny robot" shortly before it kills them.

Much like a certain rabbit, this thing's dynamite. And the missing piece to true Clan warfare.

More seriously, lighter Clan ballistic weapons makes the Urbanmech IIC far more viable than the Inner Sphere version.

It would be able to fit a Gauss, 3.0 tons of ammo and maxed armor everywhere except for one arm, while maintaining 97.2 kph (non-speed tweak) top speed.
Or a UAC10 with 2.5 tons of ammo and a pair of ER Medium Lasers.

Sure the Kit Fox can already do that... but it's not an Urbie!

Well, you may SAY that clan ballistics would be more viable, but with the advent of the Light Gauss cannon I've just been content to sit back and watch the depleted uranium fly.

I updated:

- UM-IIC-B now has ATM6 + LRM15 than ATM9 + 2x LRM5
- Remove most quirks, and halved armor bonuses.
- Changed UM-IIC-C UAC2 to UAC5

Lol. Until that little guy does 10 damage, it's nothing more than a gimmicky gauss.

And WHY did you do these changes? They can't make sense without "Design Notes". Are you trying to Nerf your own Suggestion into death? :(

Not with the impression I'm getting of how badly that The6thMessenger has gone and Nerf-Bat'd their original design. At least, what I can remember of it, and how it was supposed to seem more fear-causing against opponents. Those quirks don't even come close to what the I.S. Urbies have. Worse, there's nothing to boost the weaponry either, wiping out a lot of unique personality that each variant of the UM-IIC could have had. This is actually making me start to want to give up on supporting bringing the UM-IIC into MWO, because now it's starting to sound like a shadow of its' Lore or Former selves. :(

Waitaminnut.

Step back with me a moment and consider again the difference between the IS and ClanTech Hunchies.

One group has considerably more quirks than the other, for good reason. The other has lighter, more compact weapons and equipment and generally more potent energy weaponry.

Bear in mind that we already have a ClanTech 30-tonner with an XL180 (which would be the likely engine cap): the Kit Fox. Some of the KFX's quirks exist for simple survival, yes. Other quirks exist to encourage lore-based builds, or using a matching set of 8 pods (I'm not saying this is a good, bad, or effective).

Urbie-IIC, as a Battlemech, isn't subject to OmniBuilding concerns. Instead the "problem" for the devs is how optimizable the thing is.

The devs will probably handle it conservatively, like the other IICs or the Piranha. A little survivability perhaps, and quirks for single- difficult-to optimize hardpoints, like if they stick a single missile hardpoints in the CT or head (LOL).

6th is doing fine. It's almost completely unrealistic that they'd mega-quik it ever, and based on recent releases they'll undershoot. Heck, the Jenner IIC is still squishier than pudding left in my kid's lunch bag all day. Sure it's dangerous for a minute or two (weaponized pudding OP!), but it splatters easily :(

PGIplz! Give us the thing!

Hi, Virlutris... I get your thoughts. I guess I just wished the UM-IIC would be perfectly released into the game without need to get a buff/nerf from PGI. Even further, I had hoped it would be set up for the long haul even against an I.S. Urbie. Not everyone who goes Clan is a "Meta-Hard"... Not saying you're one either, but I sure keep falling afoul of them every so often.

On other notes, I just noticed one small issue with the 'UM-IIC-SN3' Hero Variant. It has less HardPoints than all those other Non-Hero Variants. I think it deserves at least one more Energy and Ballistic each, both initially unused. Perhaps with that other Energy placed in the Missile Arm, while the Ballistic Arm gets a 2nd Ballistic and keeps the Energy Hardpoint that's there already. In short, '2B 1E - RA' & '2M 1E - LA', and no need to change the Torsos (which can keep their '1 AMS' each) that are present. Such should keep the design unique, I think. Now to hope that The6thMessenger is watching this thread and monitoring for feedback, because the Hero Variant should never cause a Chassis to fail to sell on Pre-Orders.
