Map Holes

What is the technical jargon for the 'holes' in the maps where a player's mech model can get stuck on the terrain if they happen upon them? Is it a map tear? or polygonal distortion?

Just last match playing domination on Viridian the oddest thing happened. I was killed unceremoniusly, and so was spectating the match when a player announced something to the tune of "WTF I'm stuck"

Not one to miss an oppurtunity to witness the mundane, I hopped right over to spectate this player who turned out to be in a fully healthy artic cheetah. Also, is a player of some renown, I have seen him do well more than a few times in match. Load out was 6 med lasers, so of decent offensive capability if utilized.

Sure enough, the cheetah was stuck on a wall in E4 about 150 m up, with a clear line of sight back towards the center, but helpless to aid his teammates back at the ring. His speed gauge read 409.5 kph.

By this point the match is winding down, and it's 3v2 US but more like 2v2 cuz dude is stuck over in echo 4 far away from the ring and the action. Admirably enough the remaining players on our team tried to pull the enemy out towards the cheetah, and even managed to kill one of the enemy making it 2(3) v 1. But then they both dropped, killed almost simultaneously...A friggin Urbie gutted the two mechs all the while cheetah bro is chilling in E4 stuck on a wall.

Friggin Urbies.

TL-DR - What's the term for a map hole you get stuck in.

Yeah JJ mechs are more susceptible to getting stuck on terrain, cause less people play tested elevated areas. Just call it glitched terrain.

If you get stuck anywhere, send a bug report with cords and a screenie.. they do tend to fix these.. :)

There's one of these on the D-side inner corner of the drop-down hole near the E4 side of the HPG central structure.

Took almost a minute to wiggle enough to clip all the way through and fall. I'm not sure if having a larger 'mech would help or hinder that.

Yeah i got stuck on incursion at the enemy base on a wall in my cheetah.

Couldn't' rock myself out, JJ's didn't respond. I had to sit there spraying small pluses into the air to get the other team to find me and kill me. I was running from someone and jumped, next thing you know....sucked into a wall and stuck.

I also witnessed a stuck Cheetah once. It was at the GrimP. I think he jumped to the wall near the spawn right at the start, and somehow lodged himself in the wall. He could not get of the damn wall. JJ did nothing, speed cauge went up and domw, but the mech would not budge. Finaly the enemy found him and blasted the mech into pieces. We lost. Would propably have lost any way.
