I have noticed a lot of discussion that the Radar Jammer (3rd level of scouting bonus) is too weak. What about this:
When level 3 of scouting bonus is reached, a dropship comes in to assist the the team in favour. The dropship will come in at the spot where the most enemy mechs are concentrated.
The pros would be:
- Dropship is already coded
- 'spot where the most enemy mechs are concentrated' is already coded from long tom
- could be easy balanced by changing the dropship loadout
IMHO this would be a significant bonus, but it would not be as sledgehammer as the long tom was.
What do you guys think? Would it work? Would the community accept?

Not sure.
Part of the problem with the Long Tom when it was there was it takes away the effort of defeating the enemy mechs from the players.
Dropship support wouldn't be as drastic, but the more we start to involve the dropship in the combat, the more we need to improve on our level of interaction with it. ie. Shoot the thing down.

Well then perhaps make the dropship only arrive when at least a certain number of Mechs (both friendly and enemy) are engeged, to assist and ony assist an actually present fight?

How about if the dropship was able to be shot down with a big payout for everyone that helped? That would be more enticing for both sides.
