So with all of us being dumped into 1 of 2 different buckets the individual sub-faction you belong to has little to no effect on where you fight or who you fight with.... My question is why are the faction population payout adjustments still a thing when it doesn't really matter how many Davions there are when/if I take a contract with them? An individual faction's population has next to no effect now since those pilots cannot choose to all defend/attack the same planet. Gone are the days of jumping in queue on a world being attacked by your faction and having a good chance of landing in a group made primarily of your faction. Gone are the days of an individual faction focusing its population advantage into one place to help ensure victory... Is there some effect that individual faction pops are still having that warrants an adjustment of any kind + or - ? These population based adjustments should now be shifted to the overall factions so if IS is short on pop the Merc payouts will be better there, thus incentivizing a merc unit to take an IS contract.
I know this game has bigger fish to fry when it comes to FW mechanics but this seems like one of those things that could be easily fixed but is just being overlooked or ignored.

Question: Individual Faction Payout Adjustments...?

The intent of the contract bonus is to even out populations by attracting mercs to that faction.
The reality is the system has been broken since day one. it counts everyone who ever put a faction tag next to their name, weather they play FP or even the game. If they actually counted active players over the last month or week it would be vastly different.
Since 1 bucket was introduced it is even more useless, just pick the faction with the highest payout

We pick out factions two ways; as IS we go Steiner cause we run shitloads of Atlas'; as clans we pick whatever faction symbol tickles our fancy that day.
