To be fair, those GSP can directly equate to the same effect of those modules on several 'mechs. You essentially got a C-Bill and XP refund, just as another currency to upgrade 'mechs as you see fit.

Perhaps not what everyone wanted (clearly) and if enough people kick up a fuss, maybe they'll change it back? I hope not...

That's the point, or maybe they'll atleast give people a choise what kind of refund they want to get. I for myself have like 20 or something mechs, i'm prioritised on the CW so i pretty much have all the specialised mechs and builds i may be needed for the different maps, playstyles etc, i'm not keeping hundred of mechs dusted in the mechbays, that i'm gonna use close to never, or maybe somwhen in public match once or two during the month. I know people who's keeping 8-10 mechs and that's all, just changing them depending on the dropdecks, current playstyles, or just if they lost the interest to the old ones and wanna try something new, but all packed up with modules. Seeems like they gonna get so many GSPs that they'll have not enough mechs to use even half or 1/3 of those, but 0 C-bills for all of those modules.

I think the module refund is going to hit the players pretty badly who've mastered all their mechs. Under the new system their mastered mech is still mastered at 91pnts but they could have several hundred million cbills of modules currently that will give them thousands of GSP with no mechs to use them in.

Even the example of 50m cbills of module giving1100 GSP - that's about 12 full mechs mastered from zero unlocks just now.
And this is before getting to the players with mechs sitting with hundreds of thousands of xp over master requirement that becomes HXP or the thousands of GXP from module skills.

We're likely going to see players getting new mech packs and mastering straight away without even needing to play them due to the large amounts of GSP and GXP and HXP that will be in the game.

I haven't had a chance to get my hands on it yet, but I feel that the GSP refund for modules will work well for many, but will be overkill for some dedicated players. The GSP refund is a good value, as it gives you fair value for the module with the bonus of the XP for 'free', but if you have a ton of modules, it might not be what we want.

PGI: is there a way to let us choose the amount of straight c-bill refunds on modules and GSP's? Essentially on the ledger sheet let us choose how many modules to refund for GSP and how many for cbills? I think that would solve the issue here.

Also: I really, really like the GSP refund scheme for the basic/mastery/elite. You did that well.

I dont see many differences yet, except the refund system, which was the biggest challenge last pts.

Im ok with that though because i understand the concept of filler nodes, and am totally cool with it. Will most of my builds be skilled similarly? Yes. Is it because its the best option all around or because i have a favored fighting style..... thats the question. Right now it feels like im using a lot of brawl setups (structure, cooldown, heat gen, mobility), but im normally a brawler anyways, so let me try some ranged builds and get back on this then i guess.

Idk how so many people have opinions when the ques so small. Yall even try this yet?

This whole thing is ridiculous.

I own 248 mechs. Lets say 250 mechs. Give me 15 min to level one mech (the time i think it will take to do it carefully), that makes 3750 min for those 250 mechs. 3750 min are 62.5 hours. I have time to play about 6-8 hrs a week, sometimes less because of family, work and other things i have to do atm.

Only to upgrade my FW drop decks/mechs will take about 3-4 hrs.

Ok, I wont have enough xp, gxp, c-bills and so on to level all my mechs Posted Image but it still sucks.

I took a brief look at the test server and it all looks like the last time mostly. I cant get my mechs back to where they were before because i still have to click things i dont wanna have to get what i want.

My IS mechs are nerfed in different ways, clans mostly not. And we have the same skill tree (minor differences in the values). What do you think will be the result of all this?

Higher diversity? More interesting matches? Really? We will see!

Buying that new tech mechs or something else? Not at the moment!Posted Image

Still sucks A$$, lets just make overly complicated again, and still have to unlock crap you do not want or need to get what is relevant to said mech, plus i love getting bent over on module refund or lack thereof! Any body new is still going to take one look at this cluster f@#k and bolt! Good job you did well...................

Don't really take part in these PTS's but might join this one to assist people in finding things to fix or create feedback for PGI to improve this idea further as not too many seem very inclined to jump on the test server to fill out the population...

Little hint PGI, even if it's just a forum or in game title, even if it's a cheesy as **** one or a poultry amount of bonus C-Bills to go into people's main accounts. Please attempt at incentivising people to leave the public server to take part, even if only for 2-3 matches, in this PTS.

Something this big needs allot of data points to make sure you get it right, not just the same 12-24 individuals who seem to be the only ones concerned enough to try DL and try out the new feature that could potentially make or break your game which we all play.

Thank you.

I,for one, don't like this at all! I'm a locust pilot. and they are killing it, not in a good way. you take the best thing on the 1V! the acc/dec is gone! that is what makes that mech better then the 1E and so on....... please, don't do this. you will lose players if they are not able to get, some what close, to what is was. 90% to 25%. there isn't a point to have a 1V anymore! if WILL force me to play a different mech, and as such, will not be able to drop with my unit cuz I will not be able to pilot the locust. this is a VERY BAD IDEA!

So you lose skill points for mechs you sold.?

Still would love to pool mech chassis XP, since I sold some of the mechs after mastering the 3 needed.

The modules weren't the most important part of the packs anyway, and at any rate they are refunding the cost of them.

My only real problem with the Skill Tree remains at just one simple thing: 91 Skill Points is just too many. I feel like they could have lowered that to a more reasonable 50 or so by making there be fewer total nodes with slightly more % effect to compensate.

I stand corrected on one thing. Clutter skills abound. Not happy about that. Now when looking at the "quirks" screen. It will be full of useless overdrawn info.

I understand "filler" nodes, I just highly disagree with the thought process behind that design choice. I would rather see limits placed on nodes/tree, reduced quantity of nodes overall, and more accessibility to nodes. I feel like limits would lead to more "meaningful" choices on what skills to take instead of attempting to block access to nodes by hiding them behind skills I consider "useless"(Hill Climb).

Been messing around in the PTS trying to cobble something together. This is awful, just awful. I hate that I need to take skills that I don't want or need in order to get to skills that I DO want. Also, when all is said and done, I end up with a mech that is the shadow of what it used to be able to do before. Why are you taking a simple, straight forward system that everyone is used to, and complicating it? Why are you not implementing something that improves the current system instead of nerfing it and giving us the illusion of choice? This completely breaks my Spirit Bear, ESPECIALLY with this BS engine thing you implemented. I'm going to be refunding the collectors Cougar and MK II that I purchased if you move forward with this pile of hot garbage.
