For awhile you guys managed to get away from this, but the last event brought it back in spades!

DO NOT MAKE ANY OBJECTIVE A DEATHBLOW!

In my opinion, do not make any event objectives that cannot be achieved during any given match.

Personally, I'd much rather play 50 matches over the week with a match score over 100 than try and roll the dice for 10 Incursion/Escort/Skirmish etc. matches that may or may not even be available at any drop.

Make objectives more difficult to obtain, not lucky to obtain.

Also I believe it's been said, but don't make any specific chassis a target. You should be wanting people who spent money on their new 'Mechs to use them, not hide them for the first week until the bulls-eye is off of their backs.

Also x2, please don't build events around game modes no one wants. Forcing players to play on a mode they despise anyway just makes us that much more irritated when it comes up after the event (or after we complete the event requirements) and leads to suicides, disconnects, 1-man rushes etc.

A few points of agreement and disagreement:

  • Deathblow is okay as long as it is accompanied by "or KMDD" since it gives potentially two people the score.
  • Limiting achievements to single game modes is only okay if the mode comes up often enough to get in without playing countless hours to get a few matches(I only got 9/25 Siege mode matches during the latest Lucky Charms event after playing FP nonstop for a week having completed all other match types the week before).
  • New mechs are always going to be a target because we don't know how overpowered they'll be, this is fine as long as it remains "Killing Blow or KMDD".
  • One caveat to the above point is that no goal should have restrictions based on what choices an enemy pilot is going to make, it should be on what choices you make as a pilot(i.e. Get x number of kills/kmdd while piloting a light/medium/heavy/assault; while carrying a fuel cell; after overheating; after deploying a UAV(this allows a tandem goal of destroy x number of enemy UAVs); get x number of kills with x weapon; and many more, but the goals should not depend on your opponents piloting lights, or carrying fuel cells, or any other number of factors that are 100% dependent on choices an opponent makes.
