you want.. what exactly?

Your money back?

Your modules to remain?

Are you really that... like... I can't even...

Just.. NO.

They simply want cbills, not HSP. Given HSP, by and large, is going to be useless for anyone half active.

It's really not that hard to reach that conclusion, surely?

Well, could you please point out any thread where somebody demanded PGI to not refund the full cbill for modules?

I can't point out a certain thread since there were numerous ones and I do not feel like searching right now.

But ppl (cheapskates) were complaining that other would end up with c-bills and they were not and that they supposedly get screwed over because they do not get a refund of what they never possessed (I know/feel that this is spelled wrong, but can't figure out where to put the double s's).

Why didn't PGI keep their promises? Because of those cheapskates!

Anyhow...why not do what they announced?

Ok, lemme get this strait..

Some guys here are pissed that they bought modules in mechpacks for real money, and now that modules are being removed.. you want.. what exactly?

Just.. NO.

This is an online videogame.. any money you spend on a videogame in general is like spending it on a movie.. you won't get a refund if you saw a movie, and you think the movie sucks, you wan't get a refund for used shoes, or a used car?

So why do you think you would get a refund for modules?

And the best thing is.. YOU ARE being refunded.. you will get to apply enough skill points or whatever to the same mech that had the module to have the same thing once more..

So please, enlighten me..

What exactly is PGI supposed to do here?

I mean seriously.. some people... :-(

Some people don't want any change in the game at all and are throwing tantrums no matter what since that worked before. What they really don't want is the skill tree and balance pass (engine decoupling etc.).

If Bloodwolf was Russ's alt account, Carl Vickers, Ash and myself, among many others would have already been perma-banned from the game for disagreeing with Bloodwolf

Since they were the ones who created the entire modules-consumables abomination in the first place its their problem what they do to dig themselves out of this sh!thole. Since they are changing "Their Position at the TimeTM" yet again, they are supposed to do something that is acceptable to everyone, people who never bought a single module, people who only bought one of every module they needed and people who bought a gazillion of modules alike.

That would have been too obvious and since the entire point of alt accounts is hiding the identity ...

EULA's do allow companies to legally do some scummy stuff. Just saying.

I've heard EULAs compared to contracts made under duress. If you've ever read about a court case involving a EULA, a lot of it gets thrown out as downright hogwash. It changes from country to country, and sometimes even within that country, but they're a lot less binding than most people think. That's mostly why everyone ignores them.

The most versatile thing in this game as far as the economy goes is C-bills
The wise thing to do would be to give players a choice

You see C-bills can still be used to buy skill points but you could also buy the new weapons
That are coming out or Mechs

Very loud and whiny SMALL FRACTION OF THE PLAYER BASE THAT READS AND POSTS ON FORUMS.

Remember, as usual for MMOs, the VAST majority is silent, and usually happy with the changes/refunds/new toys ...

In the end, that is the only thing that matters.

Thanks to the big whiney crybabies, who destroyed the first skill tree attempt, we now have this mess!

I hope you realize that the skill tree issue is separate from the compensation one. I myself did not like how the skill tree was done and at the same time I could not care less about compensation.

I woudl have thought that the thing that matters most is the number of players and the cash flow into PGI's bank account ... and if I judge by the ease with which I can find a match (less than a minute even in the wee hours of the mornings), there are a lot of players ...

The cash flow must be good too, PGI hasen't filled for bankruptcy and is still able to pay the bills and their employees.

The silent majority is what make the games stay alive, despite the whiners.

When the whines ragequit, the happy players stay and play.

Wolf I am just saying the smart thing to do is give players a choice
Get the value of your modules in cbills, GSP, or xp if you like

Citing the terms of service as an excuse for accepting this GSP refund is a silly argument and accomplishes nothing.

Someone who has 1,000,000,000cBills in modules is getting back +26,000GSP but what if they don't have the 285 mechs that can skill up? Are they just going to sit on all that GSP forever?

You do realize all those people could just sell all the modules and get back 500m.. and now you only need one mech, that is a crap ton of mechs, and money for upgrades.

Everyone is failing to realize how much they are actually reducing the over all grind per mech. EVERY mech now costs 1/3 as much.. and all you need to do is spend 4m extra. You are still coming out in many cases 20-30m ahead.

but then youre still losing 500m

if youre averaging 200k cbills a game, thats 2500 games worth of cbills flushed down the toilet. Thats like 6 months of playing if you play 2 hours a day.

How is losing 6 months of playing time fair compensation?

Now thats an excessive example... but in my specific case id be losing 60-70 million. Which is still more than I feel I should have to lose.

Except you have to grind cbills to buy all the new mechs to use the excess GSP. You know what else you get when you grind cbills? Oh yeah XP.

If you have to grind out cbills to buy new mechs anyway, and you get XP as a byproduct of grinding cbills, then having excess GSP doesnt help. At all.

Which is why getting a full cbill refund is better.

its completely unfair for people that spent hundreds of millions of cbills on modules because GSP is not a replacement for cbills. you cant buy mechs with GSP, and in order to use all that excess GSP, you need to buy dozens or in some cases even hundreds of new mechs which, you guessed it, all cost cbills.

we arnt talking about people losing a little bit here. were talking about THOUSANDS of games worth of cbills being flushed down the toilet and being replaced with a new currency thats useless unless you spend thousands of games more cbills on buying new mechs in order to use it all. and you wonder why people are livid?

Maybe those people shouldn't have tried to game something that wasn't live, nobodies fault but their own.

what are you talking about

those cbills were earned from playing the game

nobody is trying to game anything. just get back what they earned fairly.
