I am getting only refunds for a handful of modules- even though in the gxp listing it shows I have many many many more modules purchased (up to 30mil CBILLs tied up in 5 replications of some modules). Is this intentional/have I missed something?
Because I would like to spend that on new tech when it arrives.....

Also not sure agility tree isn't making things worse (My Jester, 350xl engine, seems to take longer to stop with speed tweak and hard break than without any agility tree- haven't had time to test hard break in isolation, or get exact measurements of stopping distance yet).

+unresponsive keyboard leading to typo's in headings (ok, that one isn't PGI)

I thought it was a bug too with the modules, but its apparently intentional that you get no cbills back on modules you bought before a certain time.

People weren't happy with how the original refund plan was going to work so PGI adjusted it so that you get (effectively) free xp with your module refund so you can master more mechs.

Issue is that if you mastered your mechs already and then bought modules for them then you have nothing to spend the GSP on, so its worthless for you unless you go out and buy a boatload of mechs with the cbills you aren't getting back.

On the bright side, any new mech you now buy will be instantly mastered, free of charge. You won't need to play unmastered mechs for a while.

I only have about 2/3 of my 176 mechs mastered. I'm getting enough GSP to master all of them and have enough over for another 40. Sounds pretty good to me. I'm getting 7 million free XP I never earned.

They'd be fully mastered the moment I got them even without the GSP because I also get over 200K GXP. If I got the module refund in cbills then I could buy new mechs, use GXP and a very small amount of cbills (less than the cost of one cooldown module) and master it.

Now one cooldown module doesn't give enough GSP to actually master a mech, much less more than that, but getting the cbills back and using the GXP I got refunded would let me master that mech fully. I'm in a much worse position than just getting my money back.

OK. Got it. Thanks for the clarification.

I think it is clever of PGI- to avoid flooding Cbills into the economy, and also generous in giving effectively free XP.

I am not in the position of not having to skill up new mechs under his system for AGES. Not sure how feel about this. The xp grind was really half the fun for me- I tend to play mastered mechs only in tournaments. On the other hand, cbill grinding to buy a mech is a lot less fun than playing a new one.

I guess it means I can fully unlock all nodes/respec for much less as well. Aaaand no more hunting for equipped modules (hated that- that change alone is welcome).

Maybe reducing GSP refund, and providing a partial CBILL refund for pre skill tree announcement purchases would be a better middle ground for most people?

Half and half, or better yet the option to pick would be a much better solution for most people.
