So, with this really messed up hit reg, can anyone logically explain to me why it is easier to behead an atlas than to hit the ct on an arctic cheetah ?
Can't hit ct on a shut down cheetah, crosshair dead center and it registers as a left arm hit... 3 times in a row.

But in an atlas, 2 shots in 4 seconds and I m dead.

So waht the heck is going on ?

You're not moving enough if you are getting head shot that easy.

Its a good idea to check all hitboxes in that thread, and it is often a good idea just to shoot at a mechs head (not headslot hardpoint, just the head area) rather than at center mass, particularly when they are still like that (and with a light legs are always a safe bet).

Doesn't excuse the fact that when aiming at the CT on a shut down cheetah, I end up hitting the arm. And I am perfectly still.

The Cheetah being shut down might be the problem ...

IIRC there is a "bug" or "feature" that screws the hitboxes when a 'Mech is shutdown, but you'll have to ask the Elite Expert Overlords for confirmation on that.

I do know that when I shot point-blank in the small window on the head of a shutdown 'Mech, aiming for the "cockpit slot" I found on these forums, it registered as a side torso hit ... only was able to do that once though.

A: why are you shooting torsos on a Cheetah? The Cheetah is one of the flimsiest, most fragile mechs in the game - just go for the legs. But if you aim for the torsos? It loses pieces left and right, but it never dies. It immediately becomes one of the hardest to kill mechs in the game.

B: yes, mechs that enter shutdown state while moving seem to often have misplaced or maybe more appropriately "mistimed" hitboxes. It's not unheard of to fire a full alpha at a shutdown light mech and have it deal zero damage because the server saw the light power up and start moving long before your client did. This seems to transcend HSR for some reason.

You should git gud with the Atlas cause it is actually not easy to core out Atlas' cockpit unless the mech is standing still. And stop having terrible build on it. UAC5 and LRMs, really?

You could say the same about the locust.. that little bug can sink damage like a boss.. I've taken down assault mechs in a quarter of the time it takes me to kill a locust, if I even do..

Usually the locust either runs away (with zero chance of me catching it, like, ever), or it takes me out.. it's so OP you wouldn't believe..

Its simply depends if the Locust/Cheetah is lag shielded or not.

I been running my dual AC 20 KC lately and one locust goes down in a single hit and another take 3 hits and shows no damage. The cross showed a hit, the end a match screen shows hits, but not the Locust.

Anyway use the complaint option on lag shielded mechs is what I do and maybe they will find the problem eventually.
