As title states. You might mean well, and think you are making MWO a better place, but the reality of it is, players that post or rage against the PTS only muddy the waters for the rest of the player base from getting any accurate info on it from those great and few individuals that do actually take the time to test it. So please, abstain.

Also, I kind of went against myself by posting this. Also do whatever you want, we are adults, mostly. Just my spin.

For my part, I did. Skill tree doesn't do **** for the ruined IS 'mechs, and you still have to take a bunch of useless weapon nodes to get the generic CD/velocity/range/heat gen ones.

Yep, tried it out today, my ASN-DD is still nicely agile and that's before I spend any skill points.

I suggest that everyone should log in to at least check how much they will get with the new refund system

There's even a breakdown of how the refunds are made up so if you don't want a ton of GSP you can sell off any modules before the change hits

Don't make a thread when you think you know what people are doing when you actually don't have a clue. /thread

So, you are saying people are incapable of determining facts like that they are still locking wanted skills behind unwanted/useless skills based on the pictures of the Skill Trees provided in their Announcement? OH BOY!! I get to unlock Arm Pitch multiple times on my BNC-3M to move through the tree!! FUN!! That will be useful!!!

BTW - I did try it last night. Posted a pic and video that will again be ignored by them because I'm not a whale or NDA holder.

White night away!!

OK, sure. I make a marked effort to not offend anyone in the effort of making info dissemination easier, and yet you are offended. Of course you are. Hey man, feel free to start a thread that asking for just the opposite.

But it's so much easier to rage when you're ignorant...

To be fair though, it does take a while to find matches.

Tried it out did not really like having to buy nodes I dont want to get to the ones I do, and in some cases buying nodes that will not do anything for the mech.

3.0 already, i still haven't read the 2.0 notes in their entirety. i think i was happy with it at the 2.0 test, current iteration looks good from what ive skimmed. especially if it means i get 2500 mc for my old mc consumables. i dont need a pile of cbills if i can keep my mastery, cbills roll in about as fast as i can spend them. many people are still arguing over issues that have already been solved.

i dont need to run the pts as my reading comprehension is capable of parsing the notes. the game needs new life, because all im doing every month is mastering the cbill mech of the month. next month is going to be sparse because i already mastered my bushie std pack and just need to buy and master the reinforcements. if pgi would ignore the salt and just put it out there im sure everyone can adjust and id have something else to play with next month.

You didn't choose the white knight life, the white knight life chose you.

Well, let's answer a few questions that don't need you to basically download the entire game again to play on the PTS:
  • Is the skill tree still basically a grind-maze like last time with lots of tiny expensive little bonuses scattered out across a clunky UI?
  • Do they still lock good skills behind useless or nearly useless ones in a sad attempt to substitute GRIND for CONTENT?
  • Are there only a handful of viable builds with the skill maze (weapon nodes excluded), thus invalidating their supposed "role warfare" pillar of so long ago?
  • Are there still respec costs for skills in a game that depends heavily on customization to make it fun to play, thus punishing people for using the mechlab?
If "yes" to all or most of these, then the skill maze is still a badly designed mess that has no purpose in the game. I don't need to 'try it" anymore than I need to put my hand on a red hot stove to "see for myself" that it hurts like hell.

Oh, and since we're on the subject: Are they still removing the vast majority of the large, life-giving quirks that kept so many mechs - IS in particularly - even remotely playable in the game?

If "yes," then this goes beyond the failures of the skill tree and straight into utterly wrecking game balance.

i'll comment whether or not i have tried it or not. I have been just as committed to the franchise as just about anyone else and have the right to express my opinions.

What I do know is that we were desperately in need of new content and it has constantly been shut down by people who claim to know what is best for MWO and seem to have the assumption that they are more elite than others because they participated in a test. Being a tester does not make you infallible in your critique but does make you think you can advance your own cause. You go into testing with a pre-conceived notion of how the game should be and no amount of claim to being neutral can possibly be believed.
