One issue that is clearly apparent after going through messing with this system last night for a little bit, is duplicate variants (ones that are purchased after this goes live, since those before this go live get 91 skill points for your mastery).
Pros:
- They can be configured differently with more customization than modules offered.
Cons:
- They require you to unlock EVERYTHING all over again.
That con, is huge. Before, I just needed modules for that duplicate and honestly that was costly enough that it made people hesitate on buying duplicates (I know I did). This skill tree change only exacerbates it, actively incentivizing me to NOT buy a duplicate and just respec and rebuild.
Seriously, once a node is unlocked for that mech model (HBK-4SP or TBR-Prime as an example), it should be unlocked across all instances of that model (so if I have 5 HBK-IIC-A's, I should have all the same unlocked across all of them without buying that SP 5 times).
