the weapons tree does need to be either way more generic
OR
include all weapon types
currently many weapons get no love in the tree
PPC, machine guns, flamers
while lasers and UAC get mass dedication

Ppc is range, heat, velocity.
Flamers is range, heat.
Mgs are range, velocity, mag size
All represented.

MG's have no velocity. They're hitscan.
The velocity you see is purely a particle effect.
