Simple challenge:

post a tree/branch where you shuffle the nodes around and/or change the values to make it "better" in your opinion and post a screenshot here.

Only one rule: keep the same web layout (hexagons with the same connections)

I will use the weapon tree for a start:

I didn't change the labels, but here is the overview of the node values:

Energy is made up of 12 points (yellow)
5x 4% PPC velocity = 20%
5x 2.5% Beam duration = 12,5%
2x 1s PPC ECM duration = 2s
order from top right to bottom left:
2x laser,
2x ppc vel.,
2x laser,
2x ppc vel,
1x ppc vel, 2x ppc emp
1x laser

Cooldown & Heat for 10 points (red)
10x 1% cooldown & 1% heat = 10% + 10%

Range for 13 points (white)
13x 1.5% range = 19,5%

Missiles for 11 points (blue)
5x 2.5% spread = 15%
4x 5% crit damage = 20%
2x 10% missile volley duration (clan) / 2x 10% missile ammo (is) = 20% & 20%

Cooldown & Velocity for 13 points (orange)
13x 0.7% cooldown & 1.5% velocity = 13% & 19.5%
Total cooldown (red+orange) of 23%

Ballistics for 13 points (purple)
8x 2% LBX spread & 1% UAC Jam chance = 16% & 8%
5x 5% faster uAC/RAC/AC Burst duration & 0.1s faster Gauss Charge = 25% & 0.5s

The idea is that general skills (red/orange/white) take much more nodes, but work as means to reach the specalized nodes while the specialized skills have higher value and less nodes, but need to be reached by using general nodes.

Total 23% of cooldown (min 24 points req.) and about 20% velocity (min 14 points req.) / 20% PPC velocity (min 12 points req) for total of 40% for PPCs combined.

Post your improvements now before you accept the current layout to get to the live server!

Maybe we can get a consensus what can be changed (without much effort by PGI) before it goes live next patch.


I had posted this above layout already in previous PTS topic here:

but there were only 19 votes in total, so not enough feedback from the players.

you should take the range and cooldown nodes make a white generic area that would affect all the weapons before going off into specific areas. you have cooldown in both energy and balistic at the bottom. I've tried doing a spec and I usually don't have many nodes left for firepower so starting with generic nodes helps faster.
