Civil war preorder bonus has ended, so here we are, the modeling looks ahead of schedule (future then I assumed it would be). So do we get a new mech announcement or 2 this month (week?) This being around 2:30pm PGI time as usual?

Based on the evolution of refunds and player progress issues via the various skills tree announcements over the last several months, I see nothing sarcastic or salty in Neb's pretend announcement. Rather I see a legitimate prediction.

Though admittedly the idea of PGI giving us a mech whose arms can be raised is a bit far fetched I suppose.
Come on Neb, try to stay in the realm of reality and PGI's actual capabilities with your hypotheticals.

I do expect a decent mech though, probably Clan since we just had a ton of IS mechs recently off the stretch of Clan mechs before.
My.perdition? Nova Cat - our 2nd 70t mech and pretty viable and demanded for mech.

Reach for the Stars is his motto.

Or as Russ misinterpreted it "Reach for the Stairs".

Looking at the past announcements, we got just under 6 hours until their announcement. Generally they do it around 10pm UTC, but, you are right on the day of when they do an announcement of a new pack, the Tuesday of the week before the next mech count down.

Doubt it is the Nova Cat, yet, it might be a 2 for pack, one IS one Clan, but, it is off of your poll CK16, not the more recent one. That one won't kick in until June or July.

Edit, digging up your poll, CK16, next top two winners, ignoring IIC mechs, are the Nova Cat and the Crusader. Imagine if PGI put those up for a head to head pick for this month. Well, Nova Cat would win, Crusader is okay.

Note, the Stinger/Wasp beat out the Crusader by 3 votes, but, IDK if PGI even wants to invest in doing them. Head to Head two nostalgic heavy mechs is more reliable (Hope the crusader 7L show up if it does come, it would be useful, 65 ton mech with ECM and JJ's for IS with at least 4M and 2E, 1E in the head, 1E in the CT, 1M in each arm, 1M in each ST, only 3JJ, but, that is enough to get around).

Sorry, hey, could be worse, they could not give a **** and just do Stinger/Wasp for the IS vs the Warhammer IIC for the Clans, as if the Clans need another Assault Battlemech atm :P Crusader was 6 votes behind the Wasp/Stinger vote, but, hey, PGI ignored the Firemoth and the IIC mechs for the clans to go with the Cougar and Mad Cat MK2 instead.

Seriously though, refresh yourselves with this poll if you wish to have a decent idea of what is coming in May and June. July and beyond I am uncertain on, likely moving to GG's poll instead (which is a shame, poor Champion and Nightstar).

it sounds like they have a ton of work ahead of them. They still have all the hero mechs to make. They didn't even plan on having the new tech modules made for the old mechs by july.

lol, but when anyone commented in annoyance over the last fiasco, it was whining...but smearing butthurt all over the forums against, is being constructive......

Both already out and available in the game for MC and C-Bills respectively. Only the announcement of it is missing

Yeah I think a heavy versus heavy standoff makes sense but as you've pointed out the Crusader would not match up well with the Nova Cat. It'd be ok but the NCat would be one of the new strong Clan mechs.

(Really wish more people would vote Nightstar....)

I actually hope for Nova Cat vs Crusader announcement and the Crusader pack includes the 7L as it is a jumping ecm equipped 65 ton IS mech with stealth armor. IS needs more agile heavies with ECM, though 4-6M and 2-3E (all E is center line, 1 in the Head 1-2 in the CT, unless PGI gives it energy in the arms which are just unused on the base load out).

But other versions like the 5K come with 2xMRM30, 2xML, 2xMPL, the MPL's are CT, the ML are one in each ST, the MRM's are in the arms, goes 64kph base, but, has access to 4JJ's so agile missile vomit with that.

The Heavy Gauss Crusader can't happen as it requires crit splitting, but they could make a prototype Crusader 8S, 2M, one in each arm, 2E 1 in each arm, 1B in the left torso, slap a normal gauss rifle in there instead, 3 tons of ammo, keep the same engine, more base armor. It would be effectively "well, we can get a normal Gauss Rifle in here, but, can't figure out a Heavy Gauss, yet".

Check the January roadmap.

That stops mentioning mechs at April with the clan heroes 2 and stating there wouldn't be a mech pack in February. So in 3.5ish hours we will hit when they usually post new mech packs, so it could be now, could be any time until then, could be any time until like Friday. Because I know they also have pushed off showing off mech packs to tease them until later in the week, so far we haven't really had any teasers other than for another Tukayyid.

"Upcoming ‘Mechs
Supernova, releasing in February
Assassin, releasing in March
Roughneck, releasing in April
Javelin, releasing in May
Unannounced Inner Sphere Hero ‘Mechs, set for pre-order launch in March
Unannounced Clan Hero ‘Mechs, set for pre-order launch this April"

and

"No February Pre-Order 'Mech

In anticipation for the announcement of a new 'Mech Pack in early March, we'd like to provide a heads up now that February will not feature any 'Mech or 'Mech Pack announcements."
