Ideas To Transform Incursion.

Incursion is a great mode that injects a much needed game mode and playstyle that we as players have been wanting for a good time.....It was just kinda...sorta...Maybe? Implemented wrong?

So hear me out on this, lend me your CAT and TBR ears for just a moment.

First, add 2 re-spawns per person. But. And this is a big (_)_) Only if you're able to capture 1 of 2 mech bays on the field for your team to respawn at.

Remove the drop ship call in and replace it with a tank factory that pumps out groups of 6 tanks every....I dunno minute? These tanks could be run over, easily destroyed with a couple of medium laser shots or what have you.

Now, what role would these tanks play? Easy. Each base has a field that keeps opposing players out of it and the only way to get through is to escort a group of tanks to a small opening in a MASSIVE trump sized wall so they can take out a small generator to down the field so your team can get in and rip apart the base.

The tanks shouldn't be hard to put into the game considering you've already got an auto piloted Atlas and turrets that can lock onto players and nail them so combing the 2 seems plausible.

I dunno, Incursion seems like it was a push in the right direction just the push wasn't hard enough.

Would be amazing if combined arms is implemented tbh.
Though an alternative is to simply make it asymmetrical, one on offense and the other on defense.

No thanks, no MOBA for me. Just make it harder to destroy walls and more difficult to enter the enemy base. Make Dropships shoot enemy turrets and buff those turrets. That way people have to fight for the energy cells to wear down the enemy base before they do the coup de grace. Make this gamemode last longer and give us repair bays with limited ressources.

That's nothing like a moba honestly. Game modes like this have been out way before mobas were a thing. This is basically escort the bomb to enemy base. Something that's been done in many fps games.

Current Incursion is fine. Just remove Assault mode now that Incursion is here, and I will be a happy fish.

The typical Incursion match for me so far has been this: Teams ball up and go look for one another while one or two lights on each side are left to do their thing running "energon" cubes back and forth to power radar/jammer once or maybe twice. Eventually one light breaks off to attempt an attack on the other team's base... usually because his team is in the process of being wiped out. It's not bad but it could be better.

I would like to see how the game flows with the simple addition of timed respawns. 20 minutes matches where the winner ammassed the most energy and/or has the most base left and used the fewest mechs. ( weighted say 10/70/20 ) If nothing desirable happens by the way of player behavior changes then we try something more complex.

I am not an advocate for re-spawn in Quick play because it is "Quick" play. The longer game is what Faction Play is for and there you have 4 re-spawns and the same game modes plus more.

I would like to see a couple destructible repair bays located in each base though. I think that would add to the dynamics.

I do not want to see the DropShips removed because they help deter base camping.

I think adding more fuel cell generators to the battlefield but making all of them destructible could also make for some interesting strategies built around resource denial.

How about we move away from the idea of a destroyable objective, escort would be less stupid for example if it actually took lessons from payload in TF2/Overwatch and would move forward unless contested (think moving domination circle in a way).

Also, tanks won't fix this mode.

I understand where you are coming from and the purist side of my wants to agree but I do believe change of that caliber to incursion would affect gameplay for the better. Besides, the "throw away" nature of quick play is part of the issue when it comes to the quality of matches.

This gentleman gets it. For better or for worse I've seen quickplay devolve into a typical game of unreal tournament and nascar.
