TLDR - I would like a IS "kodiak" style machine. PGI says "Why yes little pilot, you can!"

EDIT - Im an idiot totally overlooked the annihilator. Now il be able to play Kodiak and this beast when I get fed up of being small and annoying in lights.

The 2A variant is literally quad LBX AC 10s, which could easily be switched out.

While it's called the Annihilator, it'll get annihilated from range before it even gets close (the Kodiak-3 takes no prisoners after all).

It will get annihilated from range, but not by the Kodiak. Mostly Night Gyrs and Marauder IICs.

The Kodiak is getting nerfed HARD by engine decoupling and the new skill tree. I dont think it will be top dog assault anymore.

I think the kdk will just get more deadly if you get up close to them. People will drop the 400xl and put in 350ish. This is going to free up a lot of tonnage for weapons.

While that remains to be see, it's still going to be better than the Fatlas and King Crab.

While the Annihilator may be slow, It appears to be very tall and slim almost like the grasshopper. I'm sure it will get quirked (UAC/ STructure Most likely on one of the variants) and all you have to do is aim at the oversized right and left torso and the kodiak will be rendered useless

Atlas has a (small) competitive niche though, I don't think the Annihilator will have that.

Aim and LBX are not necessarily mutually inclusive by the nature of the weapon.

It's actually going to be worse than the Direwolf, and the Direwolf has better options (and range) to deal with the Annihilator. Heck, you could put 4 LBX10s on the Direwolf and it's automatically better than the Annihilator (not that the Annihilator can't/won't be quirked, it's just on the Annihilator's own merits that it's going to be an inferior option).

I cant believe I was so niave, totally missed this about that mech and I watched the dev thing about it not too long ago.

It misses the high mounts of the Kodiak. Having to expose 50% or more of the mech is a weakness

Just wondering, I watched the PGI Twitch stream where they introduced the new mechs and they mentioned that the cockpit of the Annihilator is not in the head, but in the belly which would make it like an Archer, you will see him coming over a hill long time before it can fire anything especially because it walks with half the speed of an Archer.
