Hello there,

I have just started MWO on my Laptop ( Lenovo G70).
I can use the Mechlab, rotate my mech and whatnot but once I am ingame, the game does not react to any keyboard or mouse input. I can only stand around and do nothingand wait until I am found, then destroyed.

When I play other games, no problem

Does anybody here have a few pointers?

From your thread in the Newbie forum.

I have seen that discussed in some other games where the laptop keyboard input would not work as intended.

Do you have a keyboard you can hook up to it? Have you played the game on the laptop prior to this issue? Have you tried rolling back to a previous update?

Check all of your start up programs. The last time this happen (2010) a program GuardedID was the corrupt for the posters. Below is how to prevent it from starting up, or from preventing any programs that is the Startup from launching so you narrow the issue and eliminate it.

go to start -> type in msconfig -> enter -> startup -> and uncheck gid desktop application -> restart

Engineering has reverted that the Guarded application will no longer be available in the current produced Lenovo laptops therefore the suggested solution for this issue would be to remove or to prevent the application from starting up via the following steps.

Prevent GID application from Starting Up

Click Start
Click Run
Type "msconfig"
Select "Startup" tab
Unchecked GID desktop application
Press OK then reboot laptop.
or

Uninstall GID Application from Windows

Click Start
Click Control Panel
Click Add / Remove Programs
Search for "GID" / "GID Desktop Application
Select the item and select uninstall
Reboot when uninstallaion is done.
Appreciate those who have posted their findings on the thread.

Just to add, if not that, an update to one of your security programs. GuardedID is a security program to prevent keyloggers from recording your keystrokes, you may have a program similar to that.

Make sure all of your joysticks, steering wheels and gamepads are disconnected from your PC. Make sure to disable your antivirus software along with any other process that is not needed for running the game.

DXDiag output might also help.
