Teams vs. Pug is just bad. I don't understand how it can be enjoyable for either side. What do you think?

PGI has let PUG stomps go on now for 5 years and it needs to stop in FP just like they stopped it on SOLO MM.

It's 146% enjoyable since we play Siege every night.

I like it.
Sometimes we play hard against the teams, sometimes against the relaxing pugs (balance!). Posted Image
And I don't want to play against good teams for 10 hours in a row. I need some skittles to rest.
So it's enjoyable.

I love that the people who enjoy FW and play it regularly also find that it is balanced while in the general discussion forums people cry about Clans being OP all the time yet also state they rarely ever play FW.

Wonderful how you see balance when you actually play the gamemode properly.

Teams vs pugs is the nature of the game. Anybody solo dropping is choosing to enter a environment suited towards organized groups as PGI made objectives for units and put zero limitations on groups. If that is going towards your vote on either balance or enjoyable than it has nothing to do with the gamemode but your choice to shoot yourself in the foot when you started playing it.

Faced a few organised groups over the past week.

Plenty of SIEGE, in fact played QP maybe 4-5 times max.

I actually think I've played more SIEGE in the last 4 days than I have since NOV when "QP4.1" was dropping.

Life is good as I see it.

It's enjoyable with competent players.

Otherwise it isn't on its own merits.

Game play aside
When a unit drops and they make up the bulk of the team they tend to be massive ******** the majority of the game.

My last game a MDD kept flaming my rear CT, I instinctively fired back with my M1 which happened to be my LL, he proceeded to SRM me to death before the first wave had even arrived.
His unit then chastised me because "it was just flamers" as if that actually mattered.
It's the principle of the thing.
Afterwards I did happen to kill him accidentally in during a fight (yeah it looked bad but he didn't mind hopping in front of everybody) and he made a big fuss about how I was team killing (because now team killing was bad).

People being {Richard Cameron} just because they feel like they can ruin this game

Some people are just toxic.

thing is this is maybe 1 in 10 games, unless there are not a lot of people on and some unit is serious about planet capture, and in that case its closer to 1 in 4. my w/l is 0.75 last i checked so im getting some wins, and many of the losses are good games.

1. No
2. Yes
3. No - 50/50 on this but leaning more on no because it relies heavily on being in a really well-coordinated group. It's fine if I play with my unit but since I am more online when they are not, FW is not for me solo-wise.
4. Yes

Answer to the questions after an evening full of one sided stomps and some of the worst kinds of sportmanship I have ever seen in this game: No

I don't play mechwarrior to have my hand held. I choose to drop solo, and accept what that entails. I willing load up an urbie with a stock engine and an AC 20 knowing I could drop against a unit like Kell's Commandos at any time. I do this because I enjoy a challenge, and units strive to provide that.

Sure, I like to win, and to that end I'll sometimes even hop on Voip an give our guys some direction and from time to time I've even managed to secure a victory. And let me tell you, it's a glorious day when you can lead a disparate group of rag tag mercenaries together against a concerted unit and come out ahead.

But you know what? You can't win 'em all. Learn to enjoy the game for it's own sake. I mean, we get to tromp around in giant freaking mecha! We get to live the Battletech dream! Or, at least as close a game as I've ever played to it.

You know what I did today? I stood stalwart against a manxome foe. I lead a team of survivors against a clan held stronghold, and emerged victorious. And then, when they came back for it, we held again! And yeah, we may've lost the next fight, and heck, we might even lose the war. But me? I did my Gorram Job. I took that base, and I held it 'til I could hold no more.

This week I got to pretend to be a scared young comstar pilot, thrown into the smoke jaguar assault to wear them down an burn through their ammo so some other more experienced unit could chew em up. I got to live then being thrown against clan assault after clan assault, until I became the shell-shocked, exhausted and embittered veteran I am today. Tomorrow, Clan Wolf drops, and I'll be there too.

PGI has given me the full on Tukkayid experience. How can I not be happy?

You think that would solve all the problems, but it would just mean sharks like Ash would drop into the solo bracket from time to time and 6k damage farm you. FW doesn't need a solo queue "safe space"

All I know is that if these results are presumed valid and representative of the greater community, then a hell of a lot of you are lying. If y'all are going to keep playing even without events, why haven't you been playing before the event?

This is the Faction Wars forum, basically everyone here commonly has actually been that small part of MWO's community who has been playing FW, getting good, learning proper builds, learning strats, figuring out how to farm, finding the best counters, and etc.

An Event for us is just a fresh potato crop to farm, only mildly annoying that our teammates do not wish to also learn in many cases.

Most of the rest of the community joins for a bit, gets absolutely wrecked, cries about balance, never plays again, and suggests balance changes that would absolutely demolish any form of balance in FW.

Perma-siege is like getting back together with your EX. It might be fun at the start but sooner or later you'll remember why you broke up. I had 2 conquest and 3 assault matches. I want more conquest, but the way this event is set up prevents that. I don't think the current assault mode belongs in FW. I don't know why PGI didn't replace it with incursion.

48 people voting no to only playing during events spread over 24 hours = infinite wait no drops.

Ill never get sick of siege , fpqp conquest is the only current cwqp mode thats better in cw than in qp.
I would rather see incursion replace skirmish than replace Assault.
