Heya! I have a question about this topic. I'm building a rig and have a dedicated gpu (MSI HD 7850), does that mean I can cheap out with the cpu and get the i5-3570k with HD 2500 instead of HD 4000 without seeing any difference?

Oh, never mind, the 3570k isn't available with HD 2500 graphics.

Answer: No, you don't need to care about the Intel-graphics if you have a dedicated GPU.
But if you have to ask the question you should ask yourself if you really need the 3570k. The amount of money you have to pay more compared to it's smaller siblings counts off if you overclock it, something I'm not sure you're intending. Smaller Ivy-Bridge will have more than enough power for MWO, too.

Thanks for the warning, though I do fully intend to experiment with overclocking. I decided on ivy bridge over sandy bridge because I don't see much merit in buying dated tech, even if it is slightly cheaper and tends to run cooler, and I went with the current gen i5 3570k because it seems to be the standard in gaming now. I'm not building this machine specifically for MW:O either; I'm just aiming at having a really powerful gaming system.
The reason I asked the question was because I was sort of curious as to whether or not the CPU's integrated graphics helped to serve any notable functions outside of gaming.
I appreciate the responses.
