I'm just wondering is FW a wasteland with long wait times or playing against the same units over and over again. I have a video coming up and was wondering your thoughts on the subject with whats happened after the event?

Oceanic since the patch has been worst I can recall. 10min wait times just to get a lobby, usually a full 8mins to get opponents.

Not due to event though, Skill Tree mostly the reason there - A number of people I play with CBFd, inc myself. I've only played ~20 matches since the patch, normally I'd do 40-50 a week. I only have 10 mechs (Clan) skilled for FP where previous I had 20 each side.

I'll likely just play Sat which is US Prime Fri Night (and Oceanic Sat night) for the next month or two.

it feels worse then it did before the event, but i cant deny the event was fun.

i think itll be stagnant for a month or so, up until the run up to the civil war patch, which supposedly is affecting fp too.

There is a quick play event going on right now. That is why you are seeing a dip. Plus everyone just played Tuk so I'm sure a break is in order for some folks

Normally we are pretty active NA primetime, but we were dropping group queue ( several teammates) last night, none of us had all the mechs in our FP decks skilled out and tested yet. Without that done, we all felt we needed to do some quick matches to figure out what we wanted to do with our builds. Plus there was a super easy QP event on.

It's not a lack of desire to play FP on our part...it's the skilltree (skill up and test) time-suck that is taking the time away from FP for some of our guys.

Also, yes...Tuk was fun, but some folks needed a week away after to do real life.

Between the skill shrubbery, the Quik-PUG-specific event, and customary need for a breather after Tukayyid, there are a lot of factors working against folks queuing for FP.

So long as pop evens out, things should pick up over the next week or two and level off. We'll have to see if the skill shrubbery kept or brought back more than it lost in player numbers. We'll know in a couple weeks, I'm sure.

Then we'll have weird again with the Civl War tech dump. Expect unevennness this summer, I suppose.

Right now there is a bit of Tuk fatigue, the new skill tree, and a garbage play only event going on. I was able to get in a bit of FP Saturday night. We had some wait times which is unusual for The inner sphere before Tuk. The opposition was somewhat varied but I did hear some of the planners voicing annoyance at seeing us over and over again. I think we only had 1 or 2 matches all night against what appeared to be a coordinated 12 man.

Thank you for the insight on Faction Warfare from you guys.. I dont play FP that much and mostly during the events and when I want to punish myself :) but I wanted to hear from the vets that play and what they thought.

If you want a better feel for fw, id hop in a community fw teamspeak, and drop with people playing and ask them. This forum isnt the most representative community for fw.

Also right now for FP - New tech.

Most won't spec IS mechs given the playing field changes again in 3-4 weeks meaning a lot of mechs potentially might need totally different reskilling. I know lots of IS players who are just waiting to see given the time sink new tech will also require.

Plus this 'laser balance pass' is also scaring people off.

So it's a while multitude of issues compounding into totally devoid queues that'll continue for at least 6 weeks IMO. PGI trying to do too much at once. They rarely get one big thing right but are trying to do 3 big things in 30 days. Already some grave flaws with Skill Tree as it is...

God help us with next months patch IMO. It'll be Aug before any thing resembles order instead of chaos IMO.

The last Tukayyid event burned out much of the people, so expect some weeks with lower population.

Although the interesting questions is if the players will return then again.

Seems to be working just fine for me and my team, other than the obnoxious dropship bug and falling through map crap.
