This event has been an interesting one. IS hasn't even come close to winning a single day. There's many good clans on both sides so why isn't the bar closer between IS and Clan?

There is some difference between clan and IS tech however it is not as huge as everyone makes it out to be.
It comes down to newbies and cbills and there's more on the IS side.

IS mechs are cheaper to purchase so most newbies will purchase IS mechs first and get thrown in battles against the players that can afford clan mechs.. aka players that have been playing longer.

Thanks for reading
Tripzter

(ps i played both IS for the first 4 days of the event and then switched to clan for the extra credits)

So... Post in one of those "dozens of threads" as a counter-argument, instead of making a new thread on the same bloody topic as the aforementioned "dozens of threads"

For every counter argument post, 3 new threads claiming clan tech is extremely op pop up. This thread was to counter them all.

Back on topic if you dont mind.

don't know what it is at right now, but late last night around 9:30 pm (USA West Coast) it was down to only about 55% for Clan on Invasion.

Honestly it's not the Clans fault that there's a culture of "i play what i want or I play for fun" in IS pugs from Puglandia.

A little less scapegoating and a little more looking inwards, it takes two to tango.

Topic got it right.

He did say there was some difference but not as big as some make it out to be and of course the rest.

Clans will tell you its because clan players are better
Is will tell you because Clan tech is better.

The real reason is the clan war horns are better than the IS.

I think the difference is because Clan mechs offer more flexibility with casual pugs. You can make more mistakes in Clan mechs and recover.

But OPs point is also correct, some very new players might have "cheaper" mechs with less upgrades and thus less firepower and ability. Thus the IS players can be newer players with not only less cbills used for mechs, but also less skill and experience.

I've not been around with previous Tukayyid events, but it would also explain why Clan has previously won as well, as with all the balance changes the mech cbill prices are inherently very different and have always been the same.
