Currently running a top Dog with 1LL, 6ML, and 8 DHS (I have tonnage left over but that's reserved for a Standard 310 once I can afford one.)

My Question; Is my load out too conservative?

Yes.

3LPL is much more heat efficient and enables more DPS at range.

Use Endo. Fill the rest with MLs/DHS/Engine to your taste.

As it's all energy, and you're a new player, try to keep your heat efficiency at 1.3 or greater.

I'd use this.

you might wanna reduce the leg armor and put it the arms it helps having more shielding arms if ya can twist.

I run the TD with 3 LL and a 30 STD engine. Place all three lasers in the RT. It is an amazing trade mech, You expose very little of the mech while hill humping and right side peeking. You can also lose over half the mech and still be effective. You would be amazed how many games you can finish with just your CT and RT left cherry red. Most people just assume you are going to run XL and waste shots into your shield side.
