PGI - Do your patch then take a break. Reading the forums will probably make you want to commit harikari. Come back in a week or two once we have had time to digest the new state of MWO.

I mean seriously guys I am all up for questioning PGI`s decisions but the level of salt that is mounting up on the forums at the minute is almost at toxic levels.

I would understand if people were only complaining about the very real concerns but it seems every other thread is just a general rant, most of which are totally incoherent.

Right thats my white knight post for the year, im done now. Flame away!

Okay, first you assume PGI reads the forums. Cute.

Second you are willing to exonerate them for what their actions have caused without knowing the results of their actions. Logical?

Third, incoherent? This is the internet. You should be used to it by now.

My only criticism for the skill tree has been what I know to be true. The time to respec over 300 mechs is not time I want to invest. And yes, I think PGI should make it easy on people who have given them the most money.

Otherwise I have no opinion on the skill tree.

Tempered in the fires of 3rd Person debacle and Gold Mech sales. This is just another Tuesday.

Well exonerate is a bit of a strong word I think more along the lines of I know they messed up but they are making some steps in the right direction. Bitching at them insessantly wont help. Structured posts with well thought out proposals are what we need more of. The bitching just detracts from those awesome community members that put together really good proposals. (Remember the guys who made the skill tree suggestions?)

And yes I actually tested things on the test server so I do have a little experience to talk from. (Really wish testing was a lot more through and longer lasting but thats a different topic)

I knew we were missing a certain thread type. Oh well, here it is, the useless "devs take a break and don't read forums" post, that is posted every time a controversial patch launches in any online game, ever. Moving right along.

Mate im very critical of IS quirk nerfs. Im very critical of the headach the skill tree will bring, especially to people with many more mechs than me.

All I am saying is - if you were a game dev what would you respond better to? A useful thread poining out problems in a rational and thought out way?

or

WAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHH FUQ U PGI WAHHHHHH

Maybe the first guy was right, this is the internet. I am probably wasting my time.

So what will help? Being nice? PGI was given a very long leash for a bit due to love of the franchise. But years of poor decision making that has reduced the community, even though the community warned them of how poor their decision were before they made them, has lead to built up toxicity.

Answer me this, how many round tables did you sit on about a skill tree before they created one? How many polls did you see? How much community interaction?

PGI has repeatedly stated they know better than us. Unfortunately the track record does not support it.

I wont lie to you good sir, I was at precisely 0 round tables. As for polls and suggestions though I did see quite a few. I forget the posters names but a couple of the guys in the community made amazing proposals for the skill tree. IMO they were better than what PGI offered up.

I just really like this game and I want to try and help, thats all.

I also agree that their track record isnt great. Some things better than others. That being said I dont see another shooter as good as this ANYWHERE let alone another mech combat game. This is my personal opinion of course.
