This suggestion would take some time to implement, but it could be something interesting.

I don't know if it's on purpose, but River City's layout really reminds me of the Vancouver area. The transition from sea to sky and the "Camping Building" that juts out into the water like Canada Place are among some of the details that remind me of home.

That got me thinking. What if you went all the way? Make maps that represent futuristic versions of existing places on Earth and have special "Battles on Terra" event games. The maps would not be totally optimized for combat, some with too many buildings and some with too few buildings, but there would be novelty in stomping around real world places with mechs.

The main problem with Battles on earth is range.

Given the "big" Battle for Unity City near Vancouver (Olympia today) during the Amaris Coup - there are lots of cliffs and valleys and still the tabletop range would be hilarious.

In the Cyclops entry last year I placed the action around Orting and Bonney Lake - and still I did need to stretch the ranges towards BattleForce or BattleTechnology Scale (AC20 = 1350m)

While I never was there - I visited some other "future battle places" - its really cool to stand there watch the terrain and consider how BattleMechs would move.
With no "game ranges" it could be possible
