This isn't an "I'm quitting!" thread.
However, I find that with the new skill tree changes (which I like for the changes they made to game play and mech configurations), I no longer have anything drawing me in to play. I used to play mech's that I needed to skill up. When I'd mastered a batch, I'd buy new ones, with c-bills or actual money. It was an endless treadmill I was quite happy to grind away at.
Now with the refunds from old modules, I have enough general skill points and GXP that I'd probably never have to have to earn another point of xp. I instantly just master any 'mech I want to buy. I don't need 3 anymore, I choose the one I figure I'll like and it's done.
I didn't realize how much having that goal of leveling up mech chassis drew me to the game. Now I'm wondering, what next? There's really nothing left to work for at this point.
I don't have any interest in faction play. I liked just playing in the solo queue. I want to want to play, but this took a lot of the wind out of my sails.
Liking The Skill Tree Change, But...

I feel the same way, like, what do I do now?? Lol...
Though in my case, I only have enough GSP to fully master 9.2 new mechs. After that, any new mechs I will have to level up the old fashioned way!

Check this thread https://mwomercs.com...lk-about-nodes/ for my suggestion about 'Beyond 91 Nodes' and see what you think.
Other than that, I know what you mean. I typically am motivated to play by the notion that I am 'improving' my performance for that mech/tank/character. Once I have maxed everything I look for the next thing to work on, even though that's kind of silly (why max it if I don't play it after it's maxed?). However if I stopped doing silly things just because they're silly I might be forced to get productive or something.
Your only other incentive is to acquire the C-Bills necessary for the round of purchases, which usually feels a little more grindy and a little less improve-y.

Guys, do you realize, now you are free to actually enjoy the life instead of grinding?

the point of the skill tree was to give options, so OP what you can do is start experimenting on different specs. It sounds like you have a spec in mind and just instantly fill in the blanks.

I think they should have made the points system simpler.
Too many P type points now.
I got Mechs with HXP that will do nothing, why pay the CB to convert them when I can just spend GSP.
Then there's the GXP that just sits there with the HXP.
I got so much P after making sure all Mechs have 91 SP, I need several toilets, port-a-potties would just overflow.

I understand the point of views, and actually tried it on a couple mechs yesterday. Truth is, I probably have enough GSP and GXP to unlock every skill on my mechs, but the differences get pretty small for some of the trees. I actually bought a phoenix hawk to try out the jump jet tree. Fully mastered, unlocked the jump jet tree fully, couldn't really tell much of a difference. Same goes for firepower on a lot of short ranged and lighter mechs.
Just doing something isn't my problem, though. I could play just to watch the c-bill count rise for that. I had a clear goal ahead of me before, and now that goal doesn't really exist. Instead there's just this empty sort of vagueness. Play has no real incentive for me now, and I hate to say it, but that Phoenix Hawk I bought (with c-bills, 1 chasis) also represented a package I had intended to buy in the future. I know it's not a popular mech, but I have fond memories from table top.

Well I don't know about you guys, but I don't seem to have this problem..
I have mechs I play on a regular basis, and some I only basic and never use again..
I love FP, and that's always fun, and with the global nerfs and skill-ups all my mechs feel brand new and different..
So I'll be washing off the dust and removing the moth balls, and using the mechs I have not used in a long long time..
Skill tree made the game fresh again, more so than it's been in years..
