The exodus doesn't happen on patch day, nor patch week. It's when the players get done tinkering with all their builds and still find them insufficient and unfun. I'm through a quarter of my mechs and only 1 performs similarly, and another benefited from the patch. If the rest are the same them I'll have lost 44 mechs of my 53. If the ones unaffected are not my playstyle, then I'll have so few mechs that are viable to me that there would cease to be a point in continuing to play.

From all the posts saying "I'm leavinv if skill tree is implimented" prior to patch day would lead one to believe there was going to be an exadus on patch day, but there wasn't. Just the usual influx and tampering found with almost every patch over the last year I would guess.

So.. you're just going to ignore the graph that very clearly shows the numbers going down then? You should apply for a job at PGI.

I really, really, really wanted to like the skill tree. I gave it a chance, it has some charm in it's attempt at customization, yet has a lot of polishing to be done and I think it is too unfriendly to casual or new players. If anyone started this game new after the skill tree launch this week the person would be blindsided by statistics and one hell of a grind. Not only do you have to save tons of c-bills to buy a mech but you now need millions to master it AND buy equipment. That's too much to ask of someone just getting into MechWarrior. You are not going to get anyone new to the genre interested in this game with a skill tree as unfriendly as this.

It's a big NAY for me so far. I'm only still around because I love Battletech, this is a game and I can't take it too seriously.

NAY

This Skill revamp is really just a redress minigame to keep us distracted on any real progress. These are the same skills recycled. This isn't even customization. Its still just a used carsalesman pitch with fresh paint.

NAY

Agree... You know since beta we have seen many changes... many odd things for no reason. Honestly this tree is a bit much and was not needed, it seems like it was work where work to look like someone was doing something type thing.

Nothing wrong with having some things somewhat simple with this.

I love BattleTech. Started with TT when some of you were in diapers (or before), and I really don't want to leave this game. But I know before I can drop again, I'll have to first take a drink of hard liqueur, then walk my mech thru the Nerf Tree forest to make it somewhat usable in battle. I'm now forced with the Skill Maze to do way too much work, only to build a mech that is a shadow of its self before the Nerf Tree, FOR NO GOOD REASON!!!

I love Battletech too. This new skill tree - it is like they got us hooked on meth. Killing mechs in MWO does release some nice endorphins. But the new skill tree is like having to suck a big D before you can go and get your fix.

How many times am I going to be able to suck the D before I say 'eff this?' I'm a new guy who just started a couple months ago, I managed to unlock the Master module on 16 mechs and I'm ashamed to say dropped probably close to $200 on this game. Now I've already discovered some of my favorite fun mechs are pure crap, and have blown most of my historic skill points skilling up just 6 mechs to 91/91 skill points and made plenty of mistakes in the plinko maze.

This is garbage (already voted earlier in this thread 'nay' Posted Image )

After couple of days and attempts forcing myself to play this, I certainly say "NAY".
